Im in the market for a turkey seat. I just cant sit turkey still anymore for more than around 45 min without hip, and back pain. Ive got it narrowed down to 1 of the 2 in the title the field pro has a backrest while the run and gun does not and is made to set up at base of tree. 99% of my set ups will always be at base of tree with either model. Any opinions on which to get? Does Setting up at base of tree with the backrest model even work? Thanks in advance!

Go with the backrest
I have both of them. I initially got the one without the back rest because that's all they had. Later I was able to get the back rest model. I would definitely get the back rest. Of course I would rather not carry either one but after 6 spine surgeries and having MS, it's required for me.

Have you checked out the gobbler loungers. I have run them for yrs. They usually weight between 5 and 7 lbs and are much more compact than either of those to carry. I attach a duffel bag sling to mine and cross sling it and hardly notice I'm carrying it. Just goggle gobbler lounger .
If going to the trouble of carrying one in always go for the one with the backrest.
I got a foldable seat maybe 5-6 years ago, and have been using it sporadically until this year.
I have a bad back, and sitting still is tough for me. I have carried that seat with me on every hunt this year, and it has been a great help.
I replaced the cheap strap with a gun sling, and I use a heavier duty strap to hold it all together on the move.
Like someone said above, I forget I have it on my shoulder sometimes.
I guess my advice would be this.... Get something close to what you want, and then modify it to suit your specific needs (if needed). It doesn't have to be pretty, it just has to be quiet and work when needed.
I did attach a pair of back pack straps to the back of seat. Working like a champ!! Especially with the chest pack I am using, very balanced.
