I considering a new 20 Ga turkey gun. I left eye dominate and right handed so I shoot left-handed. I looking hard at these two guns.
The 20ga 500 turkey with Holosun mounted on it. the 6mm red dot concerns me as possible to big. I never hunted with a red dot.mush cheaper to buy it with red dot mounted then to buy gun then add a red dot.
Mossberg silver Reserve 20ga . I been reading some post on this gun with some problems of POI not allinging with both barrels. this concerns me on this gun.
does any one have a weight on either of these guns?
I have the 12 gauge hunted this season with it i like it
6 sounds pretty big for a turkey at 40 yds
I don't mind a bigger dot on turkey guns and pistols. A 6moa dot will cover about 3" at 50yds. The bigger dot helps you get on it quickly opposes to a smaller finer dot.
Can't speak for the over under. I had read much of the same and got kinda spooked. If they don't shoot to a usable point of impact, 2 barrels are pretty well useless.
I went with the SA-20. Not sure if there's a way to reverse the safety. For the money, IMO, it can't be beat for a turkey gun. I like higher quality firearms but the better autos all have long barrels long LOP, no pistol grip options etc etc. I prefer a shorter barrel and a pistol grip on my turkey guns.
I have a Silver Reserve 28 gauge and have no problems with poi and poa. I'm using a cobe black Turkey .515 in the top long range barrel and a Sumtoy in the bottom close range barrel. I'm shooting 9x10 tss blend in both barrels. Bottom barrel 5 yards to 30 yards and top barrel 30 yards to 45yards. Nice short maneuverable Turkey gun. My 407x2 is sighted in for top barrel at 40 yards.
