Title: 28 over a 20?
Post by: RiverRoost on April 21, 2025, 08:06:09 PM
Have someone with a mossberg sa-28 and may be doing some swapping for one of my 870 youth 20's. Is the 20 a better choice over the 28? The 28 has the new vortex and my 20 has a FF4, just for trade value comparisons

I hunted with an 870 for a long time, but it stays home since I bought my Mossberg SA 28. 28ga is able to shoot 1 5/8 oz of tss, so I do not feel under gunned.. some people have had issues with the Mossberg not cycling, but I have not. If you choose to trade, make sure it cycles fine..

Good info.  Even though my .410 is in the never missed category (jinx) I do feel at bit under gunned and a 28 may be in the future.  I had a 28 years ago but can't even remember where I traded it.
