Who makes a smaller pot that is better suited for the kid sized hands? My son is getting ready to turn 9 and I'd like to get him his own pot call to start practicing with. I remember seeing mention on here in the past about some makers doing this, but haven't been able to dig up the old posts.
A 3" pot like Mike Yingling's copper might work and the sound incredible.
I also have a little sonic dome crystal from primos that's maybe 2.5"??? It doesn't sound bad, but you couldn't really confuse it with sounding great. My kids can hold it, though, which is why I got it years ago.

Patch and quarter for comparison.

The Yingling copper is money!!
Or the "Madhatter" makes a pocket yelper that's pretty nice
Is a copper playing surface easy to run? That's one call surface I have zero experience with. I was planning to just get him a slate call, but if the copper will run just as easy I'd give it a look...thanks for the recommendations!

I would start him with slate, In my opinion slate is the most Forgiving. Copper can be like anodized aluminum and get slick

He makes lots of his pots with lots of surfaces in a 3 inch size. Be advised though that some surfaces are only available in a larger size because the raw surface material is only available in one size.
James Witmer makes a killer 3" call
