Called one from 150 yards away off the roost to 40-50 yards (two tree yelps and one series when he was on the ground and he came on a string). He was down in a little depression and below where I could see him. Proceeded to gobble his head off for 45 minutes. The cedar tree between us is where I would have set up, but it was about 10 yards on my side of the property line and within 30 yards of where he was strutting. With that little narrow strip I knew he would be on the wrong side for me to shoot-was hoping he would come around it. The bird must have had a GPS collar, because he would just never cross where I could kill him. The worst part is, no fence, no change in planting, nothing in his way at all (same short pines). The only reason I knew exactly where the line was located was thanks to Base Map. I think he may have had a subscription.
Needed that Funky Chicken to bring him in rest of the way!! :blob10: :blob10:
I was walking along the edge of some Mo. Public last year and notice all the turkey scratching stopped pretty much at the border on private property. Open hardwoods no fence. Signs every so often and my phone gps said those turkeys knew where the property line was.
Dang technology minded turkeys!!!

Turkey obviously had the OnX app on his phone. Yes - Funky may have helped.
