Title: .410 Single Shot Red Dot
Post by: TX - Gunner on April 07, 2025, 01:14:44 PM
What is the best red dot for a Savage 301 .410 turkey gun?  Thanks for any help!

I prefer a reflex style site with a green circle-dot reticle.  I think the holosuns are the only units that would fit my criteria currently.  I am running a swampfox kingslayer(discontinued).

An inexpensive but effective option is the Bushnell TRS-25. I've had one on my 12 gauge for over 5 years with no issue. Put one on a Savage 301 .410 3 years ago with no issue.

Delta point pro has served me well on most of my guns. A little pricey but definitely a quality sight

So many good inexpensive options now.

I bought a Cylee Calf x1, has shake awake and auto off.

Zero issues would buy again!

You asked for the best and best in this case means expensive.

None more rugged and reliable than the Trijicon RMR except perhaps for the Aimpoint T2 but that is a bit bulky for the tiny .410.

Here is an RMR on mine.  Lots of states, airplanes, violent frozen side by side rides in the dark, rain, mud, and general abuse, never loses zero, never fails.

Holosuns rock and are pretty well priced. Currently using a 508t that's been running great for three years. I stay away from Swampfox these days after poor customer service and battery issues with two different optics.

For the cost, the sig romeo5. I wouldn't put a $200 reflex on a $200 gun personally.

I still don't know how these are legit but they are - I've ordered 3x now and all come sealed and packaged official and include energizer batteries giving me no indication of being counterfeit. They all have been bombproof too.

I run the Burris III on a 20 gauge Fieldmaster Remington and a Sightron SRS-2 on a 20 ga Stevens 301. Bought the Sightron for $119 few years back when on sale. No problems with either. The Sightron is a $300 sight on there site....got lucky on that one.

Like the Trijicon.  Obviously the pic rail is gone.  What is Sum Toys involvement?

Overall the Burris ff3 is hard to beat.  Cyelee optic has a lot of options that will fit on the pic rails for $120+/- and from what I've experienced these are good for the money.

Boy, that's cheap enough to have me order one and figure it out!

Super price on the Sigs.  Notice you'll get the high mount I think.  I have one and it had been ok until this year but I may have an ammo problem.  Working on it.

Sig high mount will look like this if I posted the correct picture.  It does allow you to sight under it if a red dot failure.

They've all come with the low mounts as well

Then that is a super deal.  A low mount may solve my adjustment problems.  I really hate giving credit card info to some of these places.  Been hacked twice in the last 6 months.  PIA.

just put AT3 red dot on my sons 410. Believe it was around $150. Seems solid and was easy to zero. Gun only costs me $250 so I wanted a red dot less than that.

Took a chance and ordered one just to get the low mount option.  Under $50 what could go wrong?  We'll see.  Let you know.

Update - shipping notice.  Should arrive Weds.  Seems legit.

The E Bay Sig Romeo arrived early.  Seems identical to my old one that lasted 6 years before crapping out. The EBay one came with both a high and low mount and all accessories.  Best deal I've seen in years.  Thanks for the link.  I spent under $50.
