Title: Stretch distance
Post by: kythunter on April 06, 2025, 10:41:14 AM
Starting building mouth calls without a jig or press. I'm hand stretching and my question is how far in inches are the stretches on a stretch meter? For example a 150 side stretch. What does that equate to.

The decimal form of a fraction of a unit of measurement. 1/4" = 0.25".  So 0.150" is a little over 5/32".

I'd use a set of digital calipers to mark it off on my work surface. That's what I did whenever I had a jig that didn't tell me how much it was stretching the latex when I turned the knob.

Makes perfect sense. I thought that was the case but wanted to double check. Going to buy a caliper so I can be more consistent. Thanks for the explanation.
