Hey guys recently purchased a Cody II, was wondering where you keep your slate when hunting. Do you use a cover over the surface? I see woodhaven makes one. Do you put in Tupperware container? Just curious what you guys are doing. Thanks.
I usually keep mine in a ziplock bag
Tupperware!

In my vest, they just go in a call pocket. For storage at home I put them in a can koozie. I have a couple of Woodhaven calls with surface protectors. After awhile the proctors have tendency to scuff up the outside of the call from taking off/ putting them on.
I put the woodhaven covers on every pot I got...spend good money in them a few dollars on a cover is ok with me if they are loose....toddler hair ties fit over em and secure em....and them same hair ties silence your box calls!
I use the Woodhave protectors when in my vest. They work great except for my copper calls which are too small. I haven't found. good solution for them.
In my vest got 2 pockets for pot calls. :firefighter:
Soft can coozie
Mrs Glenda Green makes call pouches.

Keep it simple. Nice snug fit on just about every 3.75" pot I have tried.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20250404/8c4c91570db2a71c6c1b4ed623180f4e.jpg)

I had the same problem on a few calls that were a just a little bit too snug for the cover. I took the covers and put them in the microwave for 5 seconds or so just to soften them up. Then I put them on the call immediately and it "opens" up the cover to the perfect size of the pot and then no issues. They come right on and off perfectly. Obviously don't place them in the microwave too long or you will melt them but just enough to soften up the plastic worked for me. Hope this helps.
Plastic lid to the Maxwell House coffee cans will work too for most pot calls.
The Woodhaven covers do not fit my Cody II slate or Woodsman glass. I store and transport each in tupperware and use sour cream container lids on them while in the woods. Im especially vigilant with the lid while in the woods now since I cracked a cody glass while it was in my vest; luckily Mr. Bill replaced it for me. 1 cup size Pyrex lids work on a lot of pot calls as well. Woodhaven lids also have to be stretched out some to fit Halloran pots.
