Title: Gamehide Elimitick Clothing Input Please
Post by: 10th Legionaire on April 01, 2025, 11:19:19 AM
Has anyone used this stuff? How do the pants fit? The pics on the website makes them look like skinny jeans.

I don't really need more hunting clothes but they weigh less idea of factory treated pants is interesting.

I love them. I have both the heavier and the lightweight pants, there not skinny jean fit , I am a 34 waist and I like a large because they give me room for thermal underwear. If your a short inseam you may not be happy with the length, I'm a 32 inseam and there a little long on me.  I also have the long sleeve T shirts and the button up shirts and love them as well. I have not tried the new stuff they just came out with. Overall there very comfortable and hold up very well.

I've been wearing a set of Gamehide Elimitick pants and button up shirt for about five years. I used to get a tick or two attached every time I hunted in W. Ky no matter how much spraying I did. Since I have been wearing the Elimitick, I have never found a tick attached. I spray my snake boots, hat, vest, etc and tuck the pants into my snake boots. They absolutely work. Size ran true for me.

Now, for the bad. The fabric is a very tight weave and they are very hot. They do not breathe nearly as well as cotton or a cotton/poly blend. That's fine in cool weather, but I sweat a lot when wearing them in hot weather. Worth it though IMO.

I got the lightweight pants and lightweight zip up hoodie, love them both. Cooler weather I wear thermals under them, warmer is just shorts. Ticks are not a worry for me anymore, except uncovered areas, lol. Z

Like all above. Go for it! They have worked good for me for years. Use spray for other clothing.

I have a bunch of it. I usually use the light weight almost like a cover up this way
I can wear whatever I chose under it. I rarely wash them as to not were it off.. And since mine are about 5 years old I do throw some sawyers on as a precaution. When I first got them I went and collected some ticks I let the ticks onto the clothes and they literally tumbled off just like the advertisement.

I don't know about the Elimitick stuff but Insect Shield "claims" the treatment on their products is good for 70 washes. Call me a skeptic but I find that hard to believe.

I am confident the Insect Shield stuff does work based on my work life experience. My former employer gave all field staff a $150.00 per year allowance for Insect Shield stuff. After they started doing that the reports of tick encounters was drastically reduced and we had several thousand people in the field potentially exposed to ticks.

I mix my own stuff and back in the day researching it they were saying 20 washes dont know if that was true but someone did the research on it.

You can send your clothes in to Insect Shield to get the same treatment as Elimitick. I don't know about the pants. I wear the overalls.

I used to go through a lot of bug spray. Now I just use some no natz around my head.

Here's a you tube video for All to see.  Easy explanation from how military handles ALL types of bugs.  Take your favorite clothing and spray away.  Don't pay almost $300 for a full outfit!  And don't go into the woods, in most States, without treating your clothes.  Tick borne illnesses aren't anything to scoff at.  No Natz only has essential oils in it, and I wouldn't rely on it to protect me especially just spraying my head with it.  Ticks are going to climb on your boots and pants from the forest floors and can fall from trees and when you brush up against tall grasses.  Permethrin, at .5 %, takes care of ticks, chiggers and mosquitoes so spray way and don't take any chances.

I have the socks. Don't know if they work or not. I do know that mixing permethrin up and treating your normal camo with it works like a champ.
