Title: Georgia. Check in
Post by: deathfoot on March 30, 2025, 08:06:05 PM
I made it back today from Georgia for a quick improvised weekend. Bagged a nice 21.6 lb bird with a 10 inch beard Saturdays morning of right off the roost.

My good friend owns a farm in north Georgia and I decided to make the trip for opening weekend.

From what I saw the gobblers and hens were in separate groups. Kinda weird for early season but thankful for it.

I hope you Georgia guys and gals had as much fun as I did this weekend.

North Georgia here. Close call gobbler with hens Saturday. Sunday gobbling was way off and by the time we got to where we needed to be to pinpoint him he had shut up. Tough hunting early season here with woods as open as they are

Woods are as open as I can ever remember. No gobbles heard until noon. He answered me once and I killed him almost an hour later.
