Title: Benelli picatinny rail mount
Post by: Gman on March 18, 2025, 08:36:13 PM
Who makes a "drill & tap" picatinny rail mount for an old Benelli M1 "Super 90" Monte Feltro 20 gauge? I have a Nikon Monarch 1.5-4.5x 20mm that I would like to use. (old tired eyes can't line up the Williams Fire sites any longer)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the older H & K Benelli's didn't have enough "meat" to drill & tap straight down from the top, but there was a company that made a picatinny rail that the mounting holes were angled (on the sides of the rail), to be drilled into the thicker aluminum of the receiver.

I'd like to buy one of those if they are still available.

Thank You!

Da Mar was the brand that I'm looking for.

I pulled the barrel & action bolt and took some measurements of the thickness of the receiver. There is much more aluminum thickness at the rear vs the front. I'm going to order an EGW pic rail blank and have my smith drill/tap my action. I believe that the receiver has enough aluminum for 3 holes in the rear & 1 hole more toward the front for a pic rail to be mounted solid.

I tried to have my benelli super black eagle tapped and the gunsmith wouldn't do it. Said not enough meat. I'm forgetting the name of the company but also quit manufacturing them but I put a search on eBay and it finally got listed. I know there was one on eBay a couple weeks ago. I'll look at my searches on eBay. I got that last year and worked fine with a fast fire.

It was made by b-square.
Hopefully your idea worked.

I remember the old B-Square saddle mounts. I used one on an 1187 years ago. I didn't care for it. (not solid enough) But, Thanks for the suggestion. Gonna' talk to my smith to see if he is interested in the job.
