Yall be careful tomorrow. We pulling out the driveway a bit late at 2:30am. 30 minute ride to spot #1. Enjoy the moment and watch the weather. Lotta bad stuff going to be moving in Saturday evening for us. Good luck and shoot short (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20250315/45b6ec27a7a909069373baeb4f355a91.jpg)

I wish I were there!
Have some boys there giving me a play by play. Hopefully they have some luck this week.
Very windy. Got parked at 1st spot at 315. Took a snooze for a bit. We got out the truck n started walking the road in about 6. Hit our listening point and heard 1 gobble back away. Looking at the map I couldn't decide if he was on our side of the creek or the other side. Walked a bit more trying to wait on a closer bird. Never happened so we went back towards the 1st bird heard. Tried to pinpoint him but the wind was ripping on top of that hill. Decided to go into the bottom and spend at least an hour just scratching and purring with a few yelps. Never heard or seen that bird or any other bird. Few crows around but the weather had all the wildlife messed up. Gonna watch the weather and figure out a time to go in the morning. After this stuff pushes through the birds eithier gonna be fired up or tight lipped from getting beat up all night

Not a lot of activity this morning , but did have one good one show up. My 10 year old grandson took his first long beard. He got a lesson in "it can happen in a second". We had decided to give it 30 more minutes and 5 minutes later he had his hands on a 21.7 lb gobbler. 1.25" and 1.5" spurs. He was one excited little turkey thug and I'm one proud Pop.
Thats what memories are made of ....
Nice. Congratulations to you both. :turkey2:
Muzzy Congratulations to you and your grandson!
