I changed the big birds to 70+ this year. It seems like the birds are getting bigger and there were so many over 65 last year this will make it much easier to keep up with. There were some hosses killed last year.

Well, that leaves any gobbler killed in this part of the country out.  Thinking about it, I have probably scored at least 300-400 gobblers from these parts over the years...ain't none of them ever scored 70 points.  ::)

Yup I agree. That's actually a factor in this contest. The guys out west are screwed as far as high scoring birds. While guys killing easterns are pooping in high cotton. If your team is made up of all eastern guys you have an advantage. Some areas in particular have bigger birds. So it's not a skill thing as much as a location thing. I personally have several birds in the 70s and I've probably shot around 200. While people, like Gobblenut says, have shot twice that and never seen any in the 70s. THat doesn't mean this isn't still a lot of fun.

Exactly...but really, who cares?  The entire point of the contest is to have fun with other OG members, both on your team and those on the other teams. Kudos to whoever ends up winning the contest, but for it to be fair, there would have to be a modifier of some sort included in the scoring based on where somebody is hunting. No need to complicate matters...just have some fun with it.  :icon_thumright:

I think we have a new leader... and maybe a 70+ bird.

Reflexl, Team GNH just started hunting 5 days ago. We've already got a couple gobblers. If you get a chance, please check out our team page and add us in. Thanks!!  :icon_thumright:
