I have come to the point where I will not use USPS to ship my calls anywhere south of Virginia. I hate to add the extra cost of using UPS or FedEx, but that's better than having calls disappear into the "Great Abyss".
USPS has gotten so bad that I have no choice. Hope everyone can understand.
Thanks,
EZ
I don't see how you could have much of a choice. I had a package disappear since the 13th of February. Can't get any answers on what happened to it.
I can FULLY understand, brother !!
I am currently waiting on a call I bought from Orlando, FL. It was mailed a week ago today. Feb 24. Tuesday, Feb 25 it arrived in Indianapolis. Not sure why it woud even go there to come to west PA, but..... Wed the 26th it left Indianapolis. Yesterday afternoon, Mar 2nd it arrived at Indianapolis again.
I get the feeling I ain't gonna get this call. :angry9:
I will say sometimes you will have no problems with USPS, BUT the majority of the time it is horrible getting anything shipped with USPS and you can go down to you local USPS office and complain and it just falls on death ear...
So I agree I would rather have a call shipped UPS or FedX, but sometimes even from them the package is damaged...
We understand EZ ... all your hard work and they lose a call not acceptable IMO
Yes sir I don't blame you. Hopefully Gunnar's call isn't one of them. Tracking says it was expected to be here today but the actual tracking says in transit to destination. I agree, USPS has been horrible the past year or so.

I have a call coming from Arkansas straight north to iowa and somehow it ended up in Indianapolis twice now they say it's in Chicago. Hard to say where stuff will end up these days.
EZ I totally understand, I'm still looking for things that were sent 2 weeks ago!
Their tracking system isn't much better. I checked on my shipments and each day for 5 days they told me something different. One day their tracking system told me my package left Louisiana headed towards Penna. The next day it was out in California, then Illinois, than at my local Post Office for 3 days until I went to the Post Office where I was told it hasn't left the Distribution Center yet and could be another 2 or 3 days before I received it. When I drove the 1 mile back to my house the mailman was standing on my porch with the package!

Tell your supplier the next time pack it in coffee grounds, it will get past the dogs easier and get to you sooner.
I lost a striker display last year and I was just shipping it a few hours away. Super frustrating! Especially when you're spending all that time and detail on those calls.

I dont ship many calls but I have had terrible heartache getting my checks to the call maker. I've started using priority mail just so I can track the check itself.
It's bad everywhere I think, but you better hope it don't go through Memphis. We have had two packages sit there for weeks. Luckily both eventually arrived. I was in Memphis for a funeral last week where I saw a news article and they showed a warehouse full of pallet boxes overflowing with "lost" mail.
I'm glad you posted this EZ. I have been very frustrated with the Post Office and it started after COVID. Gone are the days when you could walk in and get great customer service. Now I get attitude from lazy people. It's so bad they deliver packages at the bottom of my mailbox on the ground next to the road instead of driving down the lane and placing it on the porch. I've watched packages take a tour up and down the East Coast. You pay for a service and should get said service.
Time for the Postal Service to get a MAJOR overhaul! Since they have added tracking, they either don't scan the packages, send them to the wrong States multiple times or they end up in the ABYSS as stated. Please step in Mr. Trump and run this place like a Business not GovernMENTAL Welfare Program.
I ordered a stake puller for my traps back on December 22nd the Shipper used USPS and sent it on 12-26. When it didn't arrive, I checked the tracking number, and it said it was delayed due to weather. Anyway, long story short it never arrived, and I could get no help from anyone at the post office so the shipper eventually filed a claim and was reimbursed for the missing tool. Then low and behold it shows up at my house in GA last week two full months after being shipped from Michigan. They are beyond incompetent.
USPS is terrible I don't blame you.

They just stole $220 in a sealed envelope out of a Priority Mail envelope and charged me for delivering the empty envelope! They then cancelled my complaint due to the snowy weather. When I told them it was a theft and had nothing to do with the weather they informed me the complaint was cancelled anyway. It's a Keystone Cops movie.
I just ordered a call that has bypassed me and sent to New Jersey. I've had packages they marked "Delivered" given to an address about 2 hours away from me. It's not going to get better. My last couple of orders went UPS, and will from now on.
They created an Inspector General office that is NOT the Postal Inspector, law enforcement. They will tell you you're talking to the inspector but it's the cover up crew, they refer everything back to the post office that stole it. They will not give out the numbers for the actual Postal Inspector.
No worries T. Your calls are worth the extra charge to ship....
I got a notice the other day that a package was "delivery attempted" at 2:41 a.m. and nobody was around to sign for it so it was returned to sender.
Just out of curiosity, I drove to the post office and asked if they had it. He turned around and immediately handed it to me as if he expected me to show up.
I asked about the attempted delivery and he just laughed and said nobody is delivering packages at that hour.
If I didn't go looking for it who knows what would have happened?
Glad to pay the difference and get my call. I am waiting for a call that was shipped from Louisiana on February 18th that is now in Los Angeles, Ca instead of Memphis, TN. I am not a geography savant by any means but I don't think that was the best route.
I have certainly had issues with USPS, but I just had a package lost by UPS and trying to get anyone to help was a lost cause too. Seems to be pot-luck with deliveries these days.
I'm afraid my beautiful Kevin Dorsey trumpet from the NWTF Nationals is now in that great abyss known as Atlanta. How sad!
Gosh, I hope that call turns up! Or maybe it'l alter the life direction of a postal worker?! I have lately noticed items being stuck for a while with no updates from usps. Can't say for sure that the other shippers are more reliable though...

Shipping nowadays seems to be a gamble. I've had UPS deliver stuff for me to my neighbor's house and have had his stuff come here. I gave him his items but he hasn't done the same for me. The reason I know where it went was I saw the truck pull away from there and know in m y heart they did that. Right now, I am expecting an item I purchased from a member here. It was shipped a week ago by USPS. He gave me a tracking number but the site doesn't give any updates. I'm really unsure what to do next. It obviously isn't his fault so I will give it more time.
My grandfather would be spinning in his grave right now. He retired from the post office in the late 60's and held the belief that if you dropped a letter in any mailbox in the US before non today; it should be delivered tomorrow...and it normally was. Now we have all this technology and can't get it done in a week.
Tony I don't blame you at all. The USPS has done nothing but continue downhill for the last five years. As of late it's a problem not knowing if you will ever get the package that you paid for or if the package you sent will make it to its destination. They use our tax dollars to upgrade the system and keep throwing money at the problems they don't know how to fix. They also lost the contracts with Fedex and UPS for moving their packages around the country and the USPS doesn't know how to move it themselves. God only knows how this will play out but like you I'll go a different route as I've lost hope in the PO.

I wouldn't have answered the door at 2:41 am either. Now we ALL know why USPS is so messed up, they are getting their Days and Nights mixed up. LOL!
Order something on Feb 28 they shipped it right out and as of now NO updates after Mar 2 ... Good old USPS
The last 2 calls I got were in usps purgatory for 10 days. Tracking said the package was in Ohio the day it showed up at my door. The boss at the usps store I use told me the tracking is not that accurate because they scan the container and not the actual package.
That should have been a 2-3 day trip not 10.
I had a call sent to me last week from Texas via ups and it showed up a day early.

Hope it works better for you but I do not feel UPS and FedEx has been much better. I am waiting on a package now that was shipped UPS that was supposed to be delivered yesterday and has not updated the shipping in a few days.
The USPS processing center in Jackson MS is terrible. They lose packages. Send them to wrong places and they come back or they sit in that center for up to a week sometimes. Unfortunately, all my packages go there and then to my local Post Office

I used to have a UPS driver who since retired, a dire hard turkey hunter himself, who apparently had some 'sixth sense' about what was inside my packages...only those boxes containing turkey calls showed up re-taped like a 6 year old did it, and days and days late. :TooFunny: :TooFunny:
Ordered a shot timer from West Virginia the other week, border state. UPS shipped it WV to VA to PA to OH to IL to OH to PA.
All the shippers have issues.
A couple years ago there was a knock on my door Sunday afternoon and it was a FedEx ground guy. He asked if I could help him unload a crate. I thought it might have been an air pump for a work job. We unloaded it and it had no return address and just a very crude label with my name and address. I opened it up and it was a bench top lathe. I called a couple guys I worked with and they knew nothing about it. I called FedEx and they were also clueless. I asked them on three separate occasions to come get it and they would not. I gave it to a friend of mine and it's in his shop. :toothy12:

Musta been one HECKUVA nice guy.....going so far above and beyond to insure you were receiving tried and true, first quality calls.
Not everyone has such a cracker jack QC/QA intermediary as what you once enjoyed. :icon_thumright:
