Title: Nomad / WoodHaven / Poncho
Post by: Greg Massey on February 24, 2025, 02:24:02 PM
WoodHaven was showing the new Ninja - Nomad poncho at the NWTF Convention which looked pretty neat and it will pack into its own back pocket for easy carry...

Nomad has it on its website also..

Anyone look at these at the convention?

They are in Mossy Oak Bottomland

I use a mil surplus poncho some.  Not light but it works and covers my vest and most of my gun when set up.
If this is lighter and smaller I will probably get one.

I have the older nwtf version from nomad. It's awesome. Packs fairly small, pretty quiet, and large enough to cover me and my pack or vest. It's stored in a pouch  that sits at my lower back, and doubles as a back pad for sitting on a tree.

Packs down to maybe 4"x9"x2" thick and weighs 12.5 ounces on my kitchen scale . I'm 6'2" and about 290 it fits over me and my vest so it is just right for me.

thank you.  That's about the size of my mil spec poncho.  Mine was much cheaper.  Mine may weigh a bit more, never weighed it before.

Is it pretty quiet / not noisy material?

It's not super noisy, it's nylon type material so it makes that kind of sound but it's not as noisy as my milsurp poncho.
