After listening to the mossy oak gamekeepers podcast about scratch boxes I am looking at adding one to my vest. I reached out to cypress creek turkey calls. Are there other call makers you would recommend I look into?
SS calls when they do a run and Tom Crook here in Ms but I don't know how to contact him!
Ive got a cedar one from Jeff White that sounds good. He's got a website if you want to check them out
Find yourself a good one and then practice with it. Once you get used to running a scratch box you can leave your box calls at home.
X2 on Jeff White
SSCustom calls.
SS or Lonnie Gibert. You ain't gonna stop at 1 though
Bob Fulcher / Shadetree Turkey Calls - makes a great scratcher. So does Ernie Fetters.
Richard Shively , The Super Yelper Scratchbox. Readily available.

I have a SS scratch box that I'll sell you. I think it's called the hen house maybe. I have another from them that I prefer to carry due to size

I really like my Lonnie Gilbert scratch box. He sent it with a variety of striker woods for different tones.
SS Custom, Bob Fulcher and Mark McPhail are a few of my favorites.
Lonnie Gilbert, Baseshore, Dunfee, Jeff White, and Ernie Fetters are my top 5.
Im sure there's a lot of good makers o ut there that I've never heard of.
I picked up the following scratch boxes at unicoi and all 3 sound awesome.
Steve Mann
Anthony Ellis
Lamar Williams
Spring Creek makes a nice scratch box as well.

Marvin Breedlove !!!
Tarheel, here on Old Gobbler.
He makes absolute heirloom quality scratch boxes !!!
Oh boy, so many good ones to choose from. Ernie Fetters is a great choice. One of my favorites. Scott Basehore cedar is top notch. Super Yelpers are easy to get, easy to play and you should definitely have at least one. If you can find a RA Dunfee you should buy one. Anthony Ellis is making some really good ones. Tim Bullock makes a really good scratcher and doesn't get talked about enough.
I have several... My favorites are all from Lonnie Gilbert. I killed two unexpected birds practicing/playing with his calls in the woods. And, I have enjoyed talking to the man, as much as I have running his calls.
If I could run only one call to kill birds, it would be a diaphragm... Box call would be second... But I love running those Lonnie Scratchers, and I have seen them make a turkey dance. :turkey2:
If you haven't already purchased a scratch box it's worth checking out Mr. Buster Duvall's calls. He makes a good one!
Two that you cannot miss with - SS customs or Josh Farley.
