I did my annual Virginia Winter Season hunt today. Busted up a flock twice, heard lots of yelps, clucks, kee kee's and even a few gobbles. There was a good coating of snow still on the ground too, which is always a possibility this time of year.
Called my buddy in a decent bird that he connected on. I love the two week winter season we have here except now Virginia has this ridiculous anterless deer season that goes to March or some crap like that forcing us to wear orange (it's been this way for several years unfortunately). But we managed as usual. I've made my feelings known to the VA DNR about the ridiculous deer season but I figure it will do no good.
Now....we wait till April.
Enjoy your winter season!
Where I'm at in Northern VA, the antlerless season goes until the last Sat of April and re-opens in August.. it's crazy these days. They're really trying to knock back the population numbers up here.

Yes, that's NOVA "late" archery season tho so no orange required.
Still tho, that's crazy in my opinion.
Pics?
