Title: Turkey Spur Necklace
Post by: PAbigbear on December 21, 2024, 08:36:04 PM
I'm in the process of making a couple necklaces with bear claws for my nephews.  Seems there's a lot more ideas out there using spurs, so for those who have made a necklace, what material did you use for the necklace and how did you fasten it in the back/type of clasp?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I made this for a display. I used a leather boot lace that you can pick up about anywhere they sell shoes/boots. I just tied the ends together...sorry can't help with your question about clasps. If you don't want to use the leather, they do make paracord in some pretty small sizes and lots of colors.

I have made a lot of these for Turkey Spurs, my basics are Para-Cord, Beads (Wood/Metal)

I do not have a clasp perse, but I just use the same beads and run the tail through from each end and a small knot. Mine do just fit over your head.

Used leather cord. Years ago I was wearing a spur necklace through what's now called the Great American Outdoor Show and a vendor stopped me and sold me the replica skull. Really a good addition.
