Title: Favorite lesser known call
Post by: Zobo on December 14, 2024, 09:00:18 PM
Do you have a horn from a less well know maker that you really like?
This ABW trumpet by Andy Terell sounds as good as any and is very impressively made.

I have an osage trumpet from Lewis Inzer that is as good as I've played and has been in on a couple kills.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20241215/148d6bd73f5aa9691c9c9fab9fda0bce.jpg)

I have 2 trumpets, that cost me less than 125 dollars from a builder and I would put them up against my high dollar callers ... To my ear they play as good as my 250 / 1000 dollar callers

I wouldn't say he is lesser known.. but not known for trumpets. I have a couple Richard Hudson trumpets that are awesome calls.

He's more known for box calls but I really like this leather wrapped wing bone by Larry Stephens

I got one of Dan Harris' first trumpets at Unicoi last year and it is spectacular.

Todd Black also makes a great trumpet.

Neither get the press they deserve!
