putting vinyl wrap on my gun should I just mount the base on top of the vinyl or trim around the mount so it will be metal on metal?

I don't think it would matter as long as the mount screws are proper length I would probably go on top of the wrap if it were me.

Thanks, I've already wrapped the receiver and cut the "ridge" out on top of the receiver where the four screws are.
