Many of us have watched our seasons come and go. For some it's been a cornucopia of dead gobblers for others it been a scratch and claw season. Some years you seem to find every suicidal gobbler in the USA and some years you find every wise stubborn gobbler that ever lived. I had one of those "stupid Seasons" if it was unforeseeably stupid it happened to me. Some of it was my fault and some of it was not, but in the end it was a stupid suicidal bird that closed my season. I was fortunate enough to fill two of three tags for two states and was around a lot of birds. I can't complain at all.
So what's next on everyone's calendars and to do list. All my elective time will be spent one of two places; at the fishing hole or in one of our gardens ( we have three). Other than watching for young broods turkeys will not be on my radar again until October. I will be back in full gear come October in both Ohio and Kentucky. I love my fall hunting and I actually think I hunt more and harder in the fall then in the spring. Post what the rest of your summer will be and what is your next most anticipated season....
I have one week left here in WI. I have went 3/3 so far with one tag remaining. As always I will miss it but the bugs are starting to get bad and it is awfully green. I will walleye fish for about 6 weeks and then start putting stands up for bow deer season.
Lots of work to catch up on. The joys of being self employed.
Sent my significant other to Florida 3 days after my season ended .... since then I've fished and mowed
Have numerous things to get done around the house. After that vacation to Myrtle Beach then get ready for archery season

No season for me between my foot and what is going on with my GF but I am hoping to get some fishing in this year. I catch and release, nothing against cooking them, my hands just hurt to much to clean them so I throw them back in for somebody else. Same reason I have been photographing turkey more than shooting them when I have had the chance the last couple of years. If I can get out to do some photography I will try to do that as well but I don't think things will let me get out to do either this year, but there are other years. Have fun everyone. Edit: Sorry, Fall turkey is the season I am most hoping for this year, after that coyote season with the dogs and trapping.
Reading, posting and aggravating others on Old Gobbler. Buying and playing calls ... gardening, grilling and making homemade ice cream. Getting ready for deer season at some point...
Catching up on house duties, plenty of fishing ahead. Could be bream, bass, trout, redfish, sharks something off the beach or in the gulf. Couple weeks we will start prepping our dove fields n plant those in July. September begins deer planting. Gotta survive hurricane season 1st. Gotta keep my daughter shooting, she wants to try and kill a deer this season so that's on me to get her range time.

I have one last Hooray, start driving Thursday for a couple days hunting in Maine.
I have run into those suicidal turkeys this year for sure. I literally was thinking a couple hours ago how I haven't went through my turkey hunting snacks. It's been mostly short days hunting!
Gardening, which I suck at! Normal work schedule, house work, lawn work. Normal life stuff.
Yesterday and today were the first days I haven't had an alarm set since 4/13. Early alarms. It has been awesome.
Yesterday I actually even went and visited my 83 year old mother. She has been Covid crazy from the start so I haven't seen her for several years.
Like I said in an earlier post a month ago. "I AM HAPPY when it's over for the year!"
Fishing season for me!

I fished a few days last week after my season had ended and caught a few but last Friday I caught more than I ever had in my life, almost ever cast and good ones. We left for our season ending beach trip last weekend but I hope those fish haven't moved too much because I will back after them tomorrow!

Get em ...
Moved on to flatheads and such. I'll gig some frogs and hunt mushrooms as summer comes on. Work in the garden. Start fooling with deer setups. Stay fooling with yelpers.

Oh, the frog giging, I almost forgot. It's only a month away!
Found enough suicidal gobblers to get me through this year. Fixing to start planting summer food for the deer and turkeys and vacations with Wifey. And some fishing. Just passing the time till next year.
I've got 130 hives of honeybees to keep my mind occupied
Family beach vacation sandwiched in between installing new Kitchen cabinets and new floors.
Scratching and clawing to hunt as much until the very end. Once that is done I will go back to work and catch up on house chores my wife has been nagging about. As soon as I'm done hunting, I start running creeks fishing for smallmouth pretty often. It helps me to get over turkey season a little bit. But I still have some hunting to do before all that

Catch up on everything I have neglected during season, home renovation projects at both my house and my kids' new places, actually show up to my job everyday, get back into the gym, and just live life. I have plenty to keep me busy.

I will hunt Maine every wednesday and saturday till June 1st. I cant complain about my season. Helped my buddy Gerry kill his first 2(on opening day), got the white one. Shot 2 nice birds in NH and one was a double with my wife. The double was her limit, both on that day. Her first year with 2 toms and first time she got 2 in a day. Gooserbat(Sam) and Cuz came up here and got some birds and we had a good time. Missed out in Florida but it was a memorable time and got to meet Mike Robare and Doc Weddle there. All in all, a great season so far. I will move on to deer and duck blinds and a lot of paddling to get ready for the duck season. There will be a fishing rod while paddling, lol. Z
Catch up on "Honey Do List", Musky and Trout fly fishing, Golf, Mountain Bike Riding. Next target, Deer Season! Enjoy and be safe!
Hi, my name is Ron and I'm a turkey hunter.
After 31 days hunting for myself and with others and with 3 more days to go, do whatever my wife wants.
She's been very understanding about my problem.
Going to spread Ferocious calls from Virginia to South Dakota, and then some. Backscratchers as well.
Bigger garden this year with triple the beets.
Honey Do's, summer vacations, trout/snapper fish, gator/duck/dove/deer/snipe hunt, make duck decoys and dream about next spring!!
Work in the garden, honey do list, and chase northern pike

I like them flatheads too. I usually only keep one a year to butcher, usually around 20 pounds. When I was a young man they were my turkeys. I lived to trot line big flatheads. They were our other freezer meat. We were just poor dirt farmers living in a flood plain back when I was a kid, but man we eat good. Fresh garden veggies, canned goods, a freezer full of grass fed beef, chicken, rabbits, squirrel and flatheads. I would work all day on the farm and fish half the night. I'd probably fall over dead today if I lived that hard.
They don't get as big here as down south, but we get a lot in the 30s and a few 40+. I caught 8 on light tackle Saugeye jigging last fall. A 20 pound flathead on a 5 ft light rod is a hoot. I think the biggest of those was around 25, but I got a 39 pounder jigging in the spring. I turned them all loose.
Building a pole barn, food plots for deer, 3D Archery shots, hoping for bow tag in KS, hang a couple tree stands, and vacation. A few more days of PA season.
Vacation my wife keeps bringing up, get some time behind the compound bow and get ready for fall archery season.
