Got this in the mail today. It came from overseas since you can't hardly buy them like this over in the US. It's a Cree Q5 led TrustFire TR-1200 lumen rated light. It's pure quality in everyway. And it takes the bigger 3.7V lithium ion 18650 batteries which are a little more powerful than 2 AA batteries. I'll have to post a picture of the batteries in a bit. Here's the light. This thing will probably throw a beam say 300-400yds. 5 Modes: Max - High - Low - Strobe – SOS

People collect anything. Why not Flash lights. First time I ever read /heard the phrase "flashlight junkie".
Appears to be well built. I've had the same hunting light since the late 90's.
Out of curiosity, how many lights does one have to own to be a junkie?
I don't know but I got 2 more good lights coming. I had to buy my boy a good one that is rated at 1000 lumens but in reality it probably is a legit 600 lumen + light. That light above is probably a legit 1000-1100 lumen light. I have a Coleman 137 lumen light and I would say it is about 7 times brighter than it.
My next one I buy later on is going to be a JetBeam BC40 XM-L 830 lumen light. Here's what it looks like and the video.

He actually does several youtube videos on the lights he sells.
I have a little coleman light, don't know what lumen rating is on it, but it throws a great, very white beam a good 40 yards. I got it for seeing house numbers at night from the street while delivering pizza. It definitely does the job I wanted it for.
Your new light sounds like it would signal aircraft!
Wendell, Coleman make a great flashlight for the money. One of the better flashlights you can buy at Walmart for sure. The 137 lumen Coleman light I have will throw a beam a good 100yds or more. I'll post a picture of it.
Give me a sec.
Here's the Coleman. I paid about $25 for it plus tax. It's a good light. Throws a good beam.

Hevi, I shot you a pm..
Funny you should bring up being a flashlight "Junkie". I just overheard a women in the Walmart sporting goods area yesterday dressing down her man about his flashlight, knife and rope "fetish". I don't know what might be worse? Having a Fetish or being a monkey-on-your-back Junkie.
Later! Got to go sort and reorganize my many tackle boxes now and maybe make a list of things I might "need" or check the catalogs and see if there is something that I dont already have.
ps. Nice flashlight! There are certainly a lot worse things to spend your money on.
Here's a shot down the street with the TrustFire TR-1200. The 1st street sign is about 110yds. If you look past the cars on the right, you will see the last street sign that is lit up. That is around 220yds or so.

Well I just went and took a better one with the nite setting. It's a lot clearer and does the light more justice to how truly bright it really is. This light is brighter than a car light.
I need one of those! Here are a couple of my favorites.
Browning that is 175 lumens

best value this Nebo is the real deal cheap at 220 lumens

Guys,
I will tell you that I only paid $37 total to my door for that light. That light would cost you probably 3 times if not more as much here in the US if they offered it in a store like Cabelas.
I bought that light off of a guy on ebay.
Here's the guy I bought it from. This is a buy it now one though. My light did have some very small nicks in the finish. I just took a black sharpie and colored them in. For the money, that light will smoke lights costing $100 or more.

That's a dang sure bright beam.
I've had good luck with Surefire and UK. I have a pile of UK SL6 lights that are bright as heck and keep batteries 4 times as long as my Surefire. I found the SL6s for $28 shipped a while back and bought 8 or 10. $28 included 6 Duracells as well.
I've never been much on LEDs for blood trailing and always found Xenon to be much better, but I found out last year that the really bright LED lights work just fine for blood.
I too am sort of a flashlight junkie, probably have 20-30 here and there. The sad thing is sometimes I can't find one when I need it.
Thanks for the comments guys. I shined the light last night down on my neighbors horse barn and it reached it easily and that's about 400yds from where I was standing.
I got the other smaller flashlight from the same guy and it worked for a little bit and then it quit. It's either the bulb or the switch. I emailed the guy and told him I'm not sending it back. I only got a $11 in it. But hopefully he will just send me another one. It's not his fault. Probably just a manufacture defect.
Seller just offered me a full refund on the other light. Told me he was sorry. I think the switch is bad. I'll have to see if I can't get another switch to put in it. But super nice guy.
I have used mag lights for years but I need a good one . Which one has the best warranty & dont eat batteries ?

You probably want something around the 200-300 lumen mark.
Fenix TK11 would be a hard light to beat.

I myself like the 18650 batteries. You can buy them off ebay for about $12 for 4 batteries and a charger. You can charge them up to 500 times.
Those aren't flashlights...this is a FLASHLIGHT :z-guntootsmiley:
http://shop.hidcountry.com/category-s/207.htm
Chinese rip off of Sure Fire flashlights.
SureFire makes some great flashlights no doubt. But the drawback to them especially if you are wanting more lumen output will cost you an arm and a leg to buy one. Case in point.
http://www.surefire.com/M3LT-S-CombatLight
I can buy a ThruNite Catupult V3 which is pure quality for $150 and it puts out more lumens in the process.

Here's the one I'm hopefully going to get soon if all goes well. It's 1600 lumens and has 6 XR-E bulbs. Should be super bright.

Looks like you are prepared if the lights go out !! You really do collect flashlights ! I collect coolers & gobbler beards & spurs. vaturkey :newmascot:
drenalinld,
I sent you a pm.
The thing I like about these big high lumen output flashlights is they give you the power if you want it. And you still have 2 lower modes that will give you better battery life. The lowest setting will still be brighter than a lot of smaller lights. And the medium mode will still put out quite a bit of lumens. In smaller lights, I like a light that at least puts out 120 lumens. For some, that may be all you need.
I have this Fenix, great light. Multiple outputs from 11 to 265 lumen, and only 4.5" long.(http://goinggear.com/images/medium/products/fenixpd30r4_MED.jpg)
The PD30 is one heck a value for the money. You got a nice light there. :icon_thumright:
Well this one is coming my way. Got it for $41.58. That's a great buy for that light. I'll have to show you guys what it will do at night with a beam shot. I'm excited. This thing ought to really light up the nite. :toothy12:

Go for it buddy. I can tell you guys this much and you will just have to believe me when I say this that these high lumen lights that put out 1000 lumens or more are just something to see for yourself. Your buddies will want to play with them after they see it for themself. :toothy12: My son is just blown away by this new toy I got. Really in all honesty anything 500 lumens or more is simply a super bright beam. I showed my buddy that night beam shot down my street and he was like wow.

Really it is no worse than guys taking pictures of their shotgun patterns and counting the shot. But I'm guilty there as well. But I sure enjoy looking at others patterns on here that they are kind enough to post.
That's one of the reasons I enjoy this site. :icon_thumright:
I wanted the guys that are interested and will appreciate a good flashlight beam from such a small flashlight that weighs with batteries only 15oz on my Rapala digital scales to see the bigger picture of the nite beam shot so they can better appreciate how bright such a small compact light can be.

Hevi , I think my next is going to be the Olight SR 91 intemidator I think it 1700 lumens and the batteries are rechargeable with a little longer run time. Tac lights are cool and built well.
The Olight SR91 is 1500 lumens. It's a great light but expensive.
