I had a hen in the yard out by the wood line yesterday, which is not uncommon to see. She would walk back and forth lookin at the woods and making a really odd sounding yelp. It didnt sound like any I had heard in the wild or even on recordings and such. She even seen me standing there watching her but just kept pasing. Could this call she made be her calling her poults to gather them up or do you think she may have been chased by something?
My guess is that she probably had some poults close by.She wouldnt be walkin back & forth if something was chasing her . Unless she might be trying to distract something away from her poults. JMO
