May all who get out tomorrow for the PA 1st day be safe & blessed!
Good luck everyone including our friend Turkeybutt tomorrow in Pa.
Hunt tomorrow's opener and then take Sunday off. May be time for PA to join the 21st century. A working person is really given the short straw. Good luck to all.
Good luck !!!
Good luck seeing 15 yards in the woods.......... ::)
May 4th is ridiculous !!!
Be safe, everyone.
Go get em! Be safe, fill your freezer!
Went to the woods in PA and started raining when got out of truck. Not good. Where my bacon and egg sandwich?
Rained entire time. Nothing heard or seen
Great PA opener. Spitting rain and cool. Toms talking and roaming. Noon came quickly. How blessed we are to hunt these creatures.
Called 2 silent jakes in at 8:30.
Hunted til noon. Never heard a gobble.

Thanks for the well wishes brothers but it was a cold, wet, day in PA.
Tomorrow is another day!
Wet and cold very thick dont like the may 4th start
Rained the entire time, heard one gobble way off and could never relocate him

Welcome to sunny Pennsylvania. ::)
There's rain in the forecast EVERY DAY through the 16th of the month. :character0029:
No problem with the May 4th start here. Super green and hens are leaving the gobblers early morning. It was a gobblefest all morning long.
I took my 72 year old mom and we doubled on two stud gobblers 3 hours apart. She didn't complain. Funny to hear grown men can't handle a slightly later start when my mom and 9 year old son tag out in the same conditions. I love lonely gobblers.
Her's was 24lb 9.5" beard 1.25" spurs
Mine was 20.4lb 9.5" beard 1.25" spurs

She has shot a few long beards and a handful Jakes in the past, but never with me. Her husband, my stepdad is one heck of a turkey hunter but not a very good turkey guide evidently. he kills birds every year and has forever, but has a really hard time getting her on turkeys for whatever reason. She asked if she could go with me instead of him on the first day so I obliged.
Great memories. Congrats each. Nice birds.

Nice job, that's real memories there!
We had a great day also. Started slow but had a lot of gobbling once they got themselves a cup of coffee. Nephew was able to get his first bird and we had an absolute blast even though we couldn't have been one more drop wetter than we were. A day I won't soon forget.
Got me jacked up all over again just typing this out!
Super double! Congrats!
