Title: Scouting jamboree

We have some great public areas to hunt turkeys on that are fairly close to our home and very few hunters. I went to one of them yesterday to scope it out and see what condition it was in. My season doesn't open for another month so the landscape will probably change with the spring greening. I found some good gobbler tracks, an awesome fresh buck rub where he shredded one side of a birch tree (I guess they haven't dropped their antlers yet) and was able to spot either 2 jakes or large hens down a gravel road. The birds haven't really gotten cranked up with gobbling yet, but that should start up shortly.

Cheers  ;D

Well, they showed up this morning. I can breathe again. Heard them gobbling in the same trees. 45 minutes later there were 10 toms strutting there. Z
