Everything finally came together. After youth season closed, it seems like the birds just shutdown. I have not really been close to a gobbler the last 3 weeks until this morning.

The day started slow. Nothing at daylight. I sat and waited. Finally one gobbled a couple times and I knew where he was. I slipped to what I thought was close enough and he immediately answered me. He came in on a string.....but it was thick. I could hear him drumming and walking but never saw him. At about 30 yards he gobbled. Then he walked down the hill away from me. After 30 minutes of silence, I called softly, a hen clucks and flies up in a tree 50 yards in front of me. She sat there for 10 minutes and then she glided over my head to the bottom. It was at this time that I cut very aggressively. Boom, the gobbler sounded off 100 yards below me....but then, another gobbler cuts him off in the direction that the first bird had come from. I called, he answered and came straight in. I will post pics soon. We are on the board guys. 10 1/16 beard, 1 1/8 and 1 1/16 spurs

Thanks guys! I have a few more weeks left to hunt. I will only be hunting on the weekends, so we will see what happens.
