Since we've got the team section up and running, I figured I would just start this thread, while I had the time. Carry on snd let's move the calendar forward about a month!!!
I start in MS next Friday. Haven't seen a lot so far but I'll be out there giving it my best shot. AL prospects look much better but don't start there until April 1st. Good luck to everyone chasing them.

I'm about to go bonkers waiting on the season to get here in VA. Youth day is 4/6 and I have some pretty good spots picked out for my daughter, just not so sure about the rest of the season. Seeing a couple birds here and there, but hoping more show up soon. Still have more scouting to do, but boy are the days just dragging on. I'm ready to go NOW!
So far I have seen 4...3 two year olds and one that's a stud. My plan is to leave the younger ones to my dad and the big one for myself...as long as he stays on my side of the road!
The latest vid from last year is up if you guys are interested in giving it a watch!

Don, can't wait to see pictures of a beautiful osceallated. Any idea how you'll be hunting them? I find their "songs" very interesting, and listened to a recent podcast where they had a call that imitated their songs to call them in. Apparently they're very aggressive

From what I understand...... e-caller (FoxPro ?) and a decoy.
Headed to camp tomorrow.
Kinda pumped.
Keep us updated Yoder!!! This is awesome!
Will do.
Never did figure out how to upload pics from my hosting site using my phone, so.......
Anything exciting happens, the pics may have to wait til I get back home.
I go to "imgbb.com" and upload the pics then post the links. Only way I can get it to work too.
Problem is......only account I have is Flickr
No el pavos were harmed this afternoon.

Hammer him Don. Good luck!
No account needed for imgbb. Just head to the site and start uploading them. There's probably some terms about how they "own your pictures" just like Flickr, photobucket, etc but I've never cared lol.
Report back often!

Gotta see him first. ;D
Heard two this AM, but couldn't get them in. Headed back after it in a couple hours.
It's funner that way anyway!
April 1 for me in SC!
Our opener is Friday and they're calling for rain. If that's the case then I'll probably sleep in. Call me crazy but I just don't like shooting a soaking wet bird. I like to bean one when he's looking all dapper for me..lol.

I understand that. I don't like to shoot any big game in velvet for the same reason. I want them with thick necks and looking rutty. ;)
¡Dos grandes pavos machos caídos!

Watched a group of about 12 or so with 2 gobblers this evening trying to figure out where they were headed. Since I have to work I told my dad where I think they may be roosting so he can give them a try in the morning. I think one of the birds may be a 4 year so I told my dad to let him go and shoot the smaller one :)

So the bummer about the Ocellated birds is that I TOTALLY neglected to get a picture of the scale and I really didn't have a chance to get the picture with the paper.
My bigger bird was 11 lbs 1 oz
1 7/8" spurs
That figures to 48.6 points, I believe. But, probably no sense in even trying to enter it. Dunno.
The smaller bird was 10 lbs 8 oz
1 3/4" spurs
Sound like smaller birds with some killer hooks! Congrats, pretty cool!!

Very accurate description. Yep !!
There was one legit 2" bird taken.
