Mine runs on propane. I haven't priced propane canisters lately.
I know Coleman makes some lanterns that are advertised as "duel fuel" lanterns. I know these are compatible with both fuels, but don't know if it is safe to use both in all lanterns. You might check their website or do a web search...
If you have a Dual Fuel model, you can use unleaded gasoline. If you have a standard one green instead of gray you should only use white gas.
In an emergency you could use unleaded. It will work for a short time but will clog up the generator and will also put off more unpleasant fumes. I'd stick with the white gas.
just use the fule that is correct for your stove or lantern, don't put your self or family in danger to save $10.00 once a year.
You can thank the "Meth Heads" for that! I was told the price was raised because of it being used in the drug making process. I was told by the guy a Wal-Mart. Nice isn't it!!
Get a "Dual Fuel "Coleman -make sure you run it out dry , pump gas will gunk up lantern generators if it sits in there
look into the LP gas canister adapters for a lantern , I bought up a few of them on clearance - its a special hose and pipe thing - you can hook up your BBQ tank to your lantern and run it
