This is a picture of a deer that was showing up from time to time near a ground blind my son and I hunted a lot. It disappeared the week following Thanksgiving. I saw him the two days after Christmas chasing a doe while hunting by myself. He had a terrible limp. I decided not to shoot him because my family was on their way up to the camp and I didn't want to take a chance from my son. The next afternoon the wind was right to go back in there. A half hour latter my son crushed him @ 75 yards. The deer had been shot earlier in the year on a neighbors property was hit low and had a broken leg.

Here he is on the ground. The wound low on the chest was there before Rusty shot him. His shot was spot on. This is my son's best buck to date.

That is a nice deer especially for a youth hunther. Congrtas to him and you for passing it up :icon_thumright:
