If you could only take one striker in the woods with you this season what are taking?
In my striker addiction I've recently gotten a JLH frogwood that plays nice on everything it touches.
Hickory. Russell Beard made some perfect ones.I bought every one he had left after he quit making them.I got every kind of fancy ones imaginable .I always go back to Hickory.

A good hickory is on my list. I just have a cheap one that came with a primos call. Are you calling on slate or other surfaces too with the hickory?
I have an old purple heart striker I believe made by Primos. It seems to work well on all of my pot calls which yields great results in the field.
Slate , glass, Crystal and especially aluminum

Hmm I will have to try one. So how many did you get? Haha. JLH has a heavy hickory that's on my list.
I think 15

Nothing fancy, he just made a very good striker.

Well if you ever think of letting one go I'd be interested.

I'll think on it.He really made a really good basic one piece striker. I lost the one I had , searched everywhere looking for one wit sound to replace it.Lucked upon him in Nashville. I was instantly a fan. When I heard he quit but called and he had some left , I bought everything he had.

I got a Hickory for backup. Lol

Taking one striker into the woods isn't in my dna. Ha! If I HAD to choose only one, it'd be a close match between a JLH frogwood and a JLH heavy cedar. I'd grab the frogwood, though.

I have 3 that are ALWAYS with me, Heavy Dymond Wood, a plain white Birch laminate and JLH Frog Wood. If I had to whittle the list down, it would be the JLH Frog Wood. Jeff does an amazing job with turning TURKEY! And the Best thing is the Turkeys respond well to his strikers.

My Lyman hickory. Easy.
I've listed 2 options but forgot about one of the best strikers that I've ever used

I found a couple of them the other day that are brand new still in the pack. I guess I bought them at some point to put up

I'd say a hickory, but I haven't tried them all. Also maybe it's just me but it seems like the more you use a striker the better it gets.

Probably a JLH Katalox or Cocobolo.
