Just received my copy. Always like the harvest guesses from states with no check or report systems in place. Some states still seem to be doing ok. Btw - I couldn't get an answer to Florida's 2023 numbers from their mandatory reporting even with a FOIA request. Florida now reports 11,590 killed in 2023. Quite a drop from last year's 2022 guess of 15,000. It is what it is.
Thanks for that FL harvest info. Sadly, I didn't contribute to it last year. Maybe next month will go better for me.
I feel for you Fla hunters. Ya got great weather but you remind me of a very wealthy person with a debilitating illness. Even more sad because it used to be awesome. Still nice and warm though. :morning:
Whether or not there really was a 22% drop from their previous 2022 guess of 15,000 is debatable. Many are attributing it to so many, especially on private land, just not bothering to call their kills into the system. I'm just glad Florida finally started a reporting system of some type. They really need physical tags to not make it so easy to cheat. One step at a time.
