Title: BBQ'd Rattlesnake
Post by: barry on July 11, 2011, 02:28:58 PM
Had a little cookout yesterday.
Little deer & turkey with a side dish of BBQ'd rattlesnake. Man it was some kinda good!
Catdaddy, you need to catch a couple of them bigun's you got down your way and fatten'em up for me.

There was not even a speck of meat left in the pan at the day's end!

Yes they were VA snakes.
Would love to get some of those giant western diamondbacks!

I skinned one out and cleaned it good when I was a little boy but my mom wouldn't cook it. That looks like it was a pretty good size snake.

WAY better than any chicken you'll ever eat!!!
Teture is somewhere between chicken and fish with just a hint of sweetness in the taste.
And yes they do have a backstrap!!!
