Title: USPS (UPDATE)
Post by: EZ on February 06, 2024, 06:55:43 AM
Anyone have any pull at the USPS?

It appears that my entries for the Grand Nationals has been lost. Last time the package was scanned was Jan. 28th at the Distribution center in Charlotte, NC.

I filed all the paper work to search for them, but it don't look good. Very hard to get hold of anyone who seems to care. I'm pretty bummed.

Sorry, no connections at the USPS Tony, but feel your pain, I always ship UPS to those type of events due to USPS screwing me before.

Sure hope somebody can pull something off for you, bud.   :(

On May 1, I payed $5.13 to send a letter with tracking, from Forest City to Oak Ridge Tn. got to Charlotte, that day, got to Knoxville, this morning, they didn't have a clue where it was those 4 days. Why do we pay for tracking?

Sorry bud, I do my best not to use them in any way, it is why I hate seeing people refuse PayPal here, you have almost no recourse with the post office if something is lost, package or money order. Just had to spend close to $30.00 to trace a money order through the post office and that was only $115.00 money order. To get the money back would have cost even more.

Yeah, I'm finding that out. They have a rating of 1.7 stars out of 5. I hope my calls turn up one way or another, but I'm losing hope.

I hate to say this but I am a rural carrier with USPS for over 25 years.  Just burns me up when I hear things that amplify the ineptness that my organisation displays.  We have sold our soul to Amazon, and our first class mail and priority packages have suffered.  Hope it just got put on the wrong truck and will pop up soon.

Hate to hear this.  To the extent it helps, I once ordered some in stock strikers online from a reputable call maker.  After a few weeks, I called the call maker and informed him I did not receive them.  He sent a new package, which was received in couple days, so all good.  About 3 months later, the original strikers show up at my door.  I notified the call maker and sent them back, keeping the first package that arrived, but have no idea where they went inbetween.  So there is some hope......

The guy canceling a mess of new trucks a few years ago did not help matters none either. I do not recall the title of the person, I want to say it was somebody based out of Baltimore or Washington though, the person he took over from had ordered in a bunch of new trucks and when he came in as the new head of the post office he canceled them and it was right at CHRISTmas time.

True fact is that regional hubs have placed mail in corners before and forgot to send for a long time period. Detroit is famous for it. I've had letters that took 6 to8 weeks to reach their destination ( 2-3 days normal).

Now, to get them to Nashville by tomorrow morning, lol. What a wild ride.

Sorry about your luck. I was just screwed out of a choke that I had ordered for my Winchester. It was the only one I could find with the constriction that I was needing, the tracking says it was delivered but It wasn't. I guess somebody at the post office will be using it this year. Also my wife has had several things missing that says they were delivered too. USPS is the worst.

Had a couple Gooserbat calls I won on this site 2 years ago "get lost" in the mail along with a bunch of other calls he mailed. Back in the day I new a couple guys that worked at the airport before all the 911 stuff, apparently the luggage handlers called it "shopping" when they would rummage through peoples luggage.

Just that one.
I honestly have no idea how that happened. I shipped in a Uline heavy cardboard cylinder with each call wrapped separate and then wrapped in crumpled news paper. They have much padding between each other and they are snug in the container. Ends are stapled on. The guys at the competition said there was no damage what-so-ever to the container.  ??? ??? ???

They were shipped ground advantage, same as I ship all my calls for years. I used to ship priority$$ and asked my PO person what the advantage was and he said NON. So I went with ground from then on. Never an issue until these calls.

THANKS to all for the extremely kind words. And a big THANKS to Kevin and Briana Alley and Galen Braddy who helped me above and beyond and who make that whole contest a success. I can't even imagine the work a prep and organization required. Did you all see the calls are all up for auction??? WOW, the amount of talent in our community just seems to grow and grow. Starting to see a lot of young talent and they are bringing their "A" game!!!

I don't believe that to be the case anymore.  I'm seeing priority get there faster than ground.  Not saying it still can't be misplaced just my observations as a mail carrier
