Looking for some tips. I have 4 wings I need to remove the bones from for calls. I cut them out of the socket while cleaning the bird and have been in the freeze since. Any tips to help make the process of removing the feathers and such?

Razor type knife like a havalon or similar, cut and remove skin and feathers, all the meat will come off when you simmer them.
Add some dish soap and simmer, I do not like to boil, maybe a slow boil just do not get a rolling boil going as it makes them brittle.
After a while the meat and fat will come right off. I used a pressure cooker last time.
As soon as you kill the bird cut off the large feathers and throw the wings somewhere outside where nature does the ork. You will have bones in about 5-6 weeks.

I will add that the easiest way to get to the bones is from the underside of the wing where the feathers are less dense and the skin is the thinnest. Slice through the skin parallel to the bones, work your knife around the bones, and pull them loose...trimming off the meat as needed as you go. In addition, if you plan on using the wings in any kind of a display, the upper wing feathers will remain intact and not be ruined. :icon_thumright:
I'm never in a hurry. I have an old dog pen by my barn that I throw them in and come back some time later after nature has cleaned them up.
