I just got bit.
User names were gobblerl2 (NOT gobbler12) and joelamanda.
They also used the email Jarvismarvell11@gmail.com.
When I replied to a call for sale post I got a PM from joelamanda that looked like a system generated pm that said contact the seller at the above email for faster response. I have gotten them before but never paid attention them.
Be safe out there. gobbler12 is a real account and a good member. He had no hand in this and did not even know it was going on.
I hope my stupidity helps someone out there.
Thanks for the heads up even though I hate hearing it. I am looking forward to the time and place where this kind of thing will never be heard or even considered.
Unfortunately, this is going on every day. Shannon is Really good at catching and cleaning up a lot of this garbage, but we need to be vigilant and police this ourselves. From now until turkey season starts for everyone, we will see TONS of Classifieds. Be vigilant and follow the OG Classified Rules to the LETTER. These rules were put in place to protect us from Being Taken. This isn't Shannon's first rodeo and I'm sure he can give us All some Great stories of people that have tried to take advantage of us.
These scammers are getting crafty
Created a username that looked same as user selling call and pm'd the buyer

Sorry this happened. They are a bunch of worthless no goods. Cannot stand someone that cheats a hard workin person.
Sorry to hear my friend. We all try and "flush out" these scammers. Shannon does a great job removing them....pay strict attention to low posters using the classifieds.
Guys scammers are abound here and elsewhere
It's simple dont buy from low post members and only use regular PayPal
They will highjack a account, saw one the other day that was taken over and posted up nasty.. xxx stuff, I had no other option but to delete the account to remove the content ..
Scammers will make "decoy " account one that looks very similar to a prominent member or one with classifieds add ...a example would be if someone made a 0ld Gobbler ...notice the O is actually a zero ... or Oldgobbler. See the period ...
Look at the post count......only regular paypal
Plain and simple: I hate scammers ... I agree we all need to watch out for each and try our best to catch these people. Sorry this happened to you...

Mine had nothing to do with the seller. I had a pleasant transaction and all went well. But, there was a scammer that sent me a message trying to tell me to use a different email.
Scammers are just like horse thieves. They need to be hung.
