Title: OLD HICKORY AT OPRYLAND HOTEL
Post by: WW on December 14, 2023, 12:46:19 PM
Any of you ever eaten at Old Hickory Steakhouse inside the Gaylord Opryland hotel? If so, how was it? Thinking about trying it out during the Convention

Pretty good steaks. Kinda like Ruth's Chris only more expensive.

I feel like all the food inside the Gaylord is overpriced for what it is. Lots of great places to eat in Nashville though.

The steaks are very good, the ambiance is nice and the service is excellent, but it is very expensive.Having said all that, my wife and I will be eating there Thursday of the NWTF.

Old Hickory is nice. Overly priced...Yes. Good food, Yes. Good service, nice ambience.
Reserve your table now if you haven't already. They book up and it's not big.

Jeff Ruby's is 4-5 steps above, especially on service. Price is above as well. But it is a dinning experience. Very good experience for us, far better than Old Hickory. Book this in advance as well.

For my second trip, I will go to Jeff Ruby's again, not Old Hickory.

I will not mislead. I have eaten beater steaks than both of these produced. It's not always the steak. If it is, I would find a Logan's and save yourself 4-500 dollars on a dinner for two. The experience is far above any chain you will dine at. Ruby's is top notch! Professional staff, plenty of it, and they know how to time a course. Which that to us, means a lot.

And the steaming Lavender towels!!!
