Title: Missouri 2024 Turkey Regulation Changes
Post by: deerhunt1988 on December 08, 2023, 06:48:41 PM
Read about them here:

https://mdc.mo.gov/newsroom/mdc-changes-turkey-regulations-spring-hunting-proposes-changes-fall-hunting

Cliffs:

-All day hunting on PRIVATE LANDS only. (FINALIZED)

-Fall season PROPOSALS: turkeys no longer included with the archery deer permit. Reduce fall bag limit from 4 to 2.

My opinion:

-Tired of seeing different regulations for public and private lands. What is good for one should be good for the other. There wouldn't be a significant amount of turkeys killed in the afternoons with their already tight season structure.

- Fully agree with fall season proposals. More and more research is showing the importance of hen survival for population growth.

Kind a strange rule for the private only, wonder where that originated?  I hunt private and public there and am not really happy or mad about it.

Did not realize they had a 4 bird fall limit, how about no hens in the fall?

4 fall birds was archery and fall shotgun combined. Agree should be no hens.

All day hunting.  Why? Depleted populations already . They know that doing it on public lands would hurt populations even more.

Missouri public land has been going through lots of changes for deer hunting for a few years , some are no gun, some are no does. The land is nice but deer get wiped out fast in some areas.
