Option 4: 3
Option 5: 4 or more
It's time to come clean with your shooting results this past spring season. Be honest and truthful. :icon_thumright:
2 for 2 this year.
2 for 3 this year. I rushed the shot on opening morning jerking the gun and clean missing one. Had to laugh cause if I did not do that I might have cried. :)
2 for 2
ONLY missed 1, but I shot at it twice.
I shot one of three longbeards and and attempted to kill a 2nd while leaving and missed cleanly twice. I made two very poor shots on a different longbeard breaking a wing with each shot. He was standing at 30 yds but I killed him. UGHHH. I made one more awful shot at 25 yards putting just enough pellets in the head to knock him down so I could get a foot on his neck. Terrible!
I did make some good shots as well and two with a bow.
7 for 7 this year. no misses!
2 for 2 :toothy12:
I was TRULY BLESSED with the best season I've ever had. Three shots and three kills. My first Osceloa in March and tagged out with two Easterns in NC, one opening Saturday and one the very next Saturday. I'll probably never do that again. A TRUE BLESSING FROM GOD!
I batted .941 this year.
batted 1000 this year but that hasn't been the norm for every year.
TRKYHTR
Missed 1 this year. Shot at him to far laying on my belly with a pistol grip. Was bellying crawling trying to get closer and he spotted me.
Yes. All of them. I killed them, then I ate them, and now I miss them. ;)
...if you asked me about last year, my answer would be different... ::)
Had several the first week of the Tennessee season. Missed 4 birds and killed 2 that week, but 3 of the those misses were on the same bird on three different occasions before I killed him on the fourth hunt. He was always within 40, but always an awkward shot, and he was a monster. I guess that he ruled roost, considering I called him to the same ridge four times in four days and getting shot at everytime he went searching for that lonely hen. I straightened up after that week though tagging out in Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky with no more misses.
I missed one in between 40-45 yds.... Was set up in the woods and there was plenty of foliage up and the bird I was working was in the field next to the wood lot I was in.I had a small window to the field to shoot to the field and that's exactly where he gave me a shot.Put the sights on him and pulled the trigger but he flew away and only left a few feathers behind.
That was before I found Hevi-shot.I truly believe I woulda killed that bird if I was shooting HS and not lead.I passed up the same bird 2 days later because I felt he was out of range and didn't have the confidence at a 40yd shot and let him walk.
But I did take 2 other birds that were within 30 yds.
So officially 2 for 3.
0 for me!! 1 for 1 this year.
I shot at 1 bird this year and killed 1. Spent the rest of the year trying to get the kids on birds.
Took 7 shots this year... brought home 8 nice gobblers. Yep, one shot was a double!
Yep 1 at 50 yds clean miss but killed him second try at 22 yards
Luke95
Missed 1 killed 5 so can't complain
Nope. 13 for 13 this year.... I hope to keep it that way but we all know if you keep shooting at them it'll happen again.
No misses, no shots taken. Didn't get the chance to hunt KS or OK this year... not enough time or money.
I did get the privelege of calling in a bird for a great young lady this year, so it was definitely not a total loss. :icon_thumright:
I missed one up close. First year with super tight choke. Lesson learned. Then I shot too far thinking the H13 was magic. Lesson learned. Said I would open it up and go back to lead, but I won't. It was said that these setups were not for the inexperienced, well now I have some experience. If I miss another next year I'll have some more experience. It won't be because I shot too far. I just don't know weather to buy shells now or see what comes out next year.
I had never missed before this year. Then I missed twice. :begging:
Ugh. It still hurts to type that even. :TooFunny:

2 out of 2 this year. Now if I could just get that kind of results every year.
Missed one opening day, went 4 outta 5
Missed my 2nd and 3rd birds since begining to hunt turkeys! I sure hate to miss, and hate it even more when I miss twice in the same season.
Missed 1 out of 6. Come to find out the rifled sights on my shotgun have different points of impact between my dad and I. And that POI differs a large amount between 40 and 47 yards. Should have known something was up after I didn't get but just a few pellets in the first bird of the season.
I missed 2. First year with the burris ff2, sighted it in before the season and made one final adjustment and only took one shot following it. Come the season starting in virginia, I got lucky on the first bird and flat out missed the second. Shot it after that and realized I was hitting way right. Took my time and a lot of hevi shot to get it perfect and was dead on with every bird after that, until I walked up on a gobbler.. tried to shoot standing up but I know I rushed things and pulled the shot. So 2 misses and 8 kills.
no misses this year.
missed the same one twice, found out my gu was shooting high
I never miss a gobbler. ...I just like to shoot in their general direction once in a while just to skeer 'em.... Once in a while, I'll do it two or three times....just to make sure they're skeered real good.... ;D
3 for 3. I usually take 6-8 each spring , and will have a miss about every other year. Didn't get to hunt but about a third of the number of days that I normally hunt. And was probably due for a miss because
the last three seasons I'm 16 for 16, but during the 2008 season I missed 2 and killed 7.
I pulled the trigger twice this year where I did not tote one out :-[
I was 3 for 4 this year. I was working a tom and when he finally got into view he busted me and immediately took off flying. I took one shot at him in the air and whiffed. I did kill one earlier that morning so I've definitely had worse days.
2 for 2 this year...and #2 was a lefty prone shot!
Let's just say that I'm being sent down to the minors. This was the first year that I've hunted solo. Got a tom and jake called in within shooting distance and I turned to get a shot and got busted. This was only my second season so the lessons learned outweigh the dissappointment.
one shot one kill
3 for 3 in my rookie season. I know my share of misses is coming though.
batted a 1000 this year, but I have had some that wouldn't put me in the hall of fame
Missed 1 this year with two shots. I couldn't position myself after 10 hens pitched down to my backside. Ol' Tom popped out and I figured it would have to be quick and let him walk toward the hens. As he does that one last hen popped out the brush right in front of me and putted. He hustled and I had to wait for him to clear a small tree. However, I did get my white tipped bird later that morning and that's what I travelled for.
I did miss one but redeemed myself three days later on the same bird.
Didn't miss.
Yes...the nature of bow hunting I guess. Missed three shots on one longbeard with the bow and also had a clean miss with the scattergun. I might add that when you pull the trigger and the bird is less than 10 yards...you had better be spot on. Shooting a .665 IC and Hevi 13s...pretty TIGHT at that distance...add to it that the bird was on the move didn't help much...all is well though...both birds eventually fell at my hand....
Missed 2 got 1
Nope, didn't miss one this year, but I should have killed a couple of more birds due to not taking shots when I should have. Once, I was waiting on my buddy to shoot, when I had an open shot at one of a pair of birds we called in, and the other time a gobbler walked in unannounced and I had forgotten to turn on my red dot. :'(
Good year for me 2 for two but my friend did shoot a nice Douglas fir tree on the same hunt. :TooFunny:
Didn't miss any this past spring but I sure miss em now ! :newmascot:

A calculator can be a dangerous tool in the right hands. :-X
In about 25 days I'll be able to say I didn't miss any this year.

Missed the second bird of a double this past spring but killed him on a follow up shot, redeemed. I miss one just often enough to keep me a bit humble (if that's even possible). Never brag on a perfect season, especially when another season is fast approaching. Turkey mojo will suffer and brother it's a mutha when it does.
Yup. After my last 2 seasons, I don't say much anymore.
was actually 3 for 2 last year.
Missed 1 in 6 years
Three for three last spring.
I put down zero because even though I didn't miss, I never got the chance to shoot either! ;D
I changed loads midseason and didnt check my POI/POA.... Shot over a birds head while he was in full strut (he was with hens and wouldnt come out) I knocked the top two tips of his tail feathers off literally....I only was able to confirm this because the same bird with the same hens was back in the same spot of the same field the next weekend where I called him in again and missed him again. I checked the gun after this time and it was the Indian and NOT the arrow to blame for the second miss. It was the last day of the season. :TrainWreck1:
tough spring never had a chance to shoot.Good fall though 1 shot 1 dead longbeard ;D
