Who all carries an everyday pocket knife? What brand of knife and do you carry one for sentimental reasons, like it belonged to a past family member or you just like a certain brand of knife. Do you have a favorite pocket knife or several knives, lock blade, clip pocket style, single, 2 blade or 3 blade. Do you carry some kind of hunting knife in your vest or satchel?
For everyday carry i carry an old case knife that belonged to my father - law that my wife gave me after her father passed away several years ago.
I also sometimes carry a clip on the pocket style single blade sometimes also.
In my satchel for turkey season i carry a Buck 110 ... I also carry a buck 110 in my backpack that i use for deer hunting, that my brother gave me as a teenager. It's the first Buck 110 that I ever owned. Lots of sentimental value in both the old case knife and the first Buck 110 .... I also collect a few other knives.... Case being one of them etc...
That first Buck 110 Dates back to the late 60's ... Buck 110 came out in 1964...
I carry a lockback Puma that my ex mother in law bought me 30 years ago, functionality not sentiment, lol. My work knife is a Benchmade semi serrated lockback that my crew bought me 15 years ago. That one is a great knife and it was personalized for me by them, so that means something to me. The rest are basic utiltarian knives and a leatherman. Z
I usually only carry a knife when I am hunting and or fishing. The knife I carry is a Buck 110 folding knife that I bought for deer hunting probably back in the 70's but I do not remember. I also sometimes carry a Leatherman instead of the Buck because of the added features. It depends what I grab on the way out the door because the Buck and the Leatherman are together.
Carry a Spyderco Delica pocket clip all the time. It's boring plastic and stainless. Just not much else can compare to the edge on those things.
When I was younger, my pocket knife was always an Schrade/Old Timer 3-blade Trapper.
Hunting, I carry a Gerber Gator folder in a belt case.
Carry a buck bantam 285 with plastic handle and belt clip everyday. For me it's just the right size and lightweight. For hunting I'll carry a larger bantam 286 that is still light for its size.
During turkey season I carry an Old Timer Pro Hunter style knife with a deer antler handle and a leather sheath. My dad got me that knife when I was young. I've probably had it for close to 20 years. I've cleaned every turkey I've ever killed with it. That's about all I use it for now.

Browning Black Label Duration is daily carry, Leatherman is in Turkey vest in spring then in pack for deer hunting along with fixed blade for gutting.
I carry a Civivi Elementum II everyday. It's a belt clip single blade lockback. Kind of like a poor man's benchmade...great knife. I love it. I don't like a knife being too deep in my pocket.
I occasionally carry a case that belonged to my grandfather, mainly on Sunday mornings to church. I'd carry it more often, but I use a pocket knife multiple times throughout any given day and prefer the quick, convenient pocket clip for faster access, opening, closing, etc.
I carry a USA made Buck bantam 285 when hunting instead of my Civivi. I keep a Gerber lockback in my turkey vest/satchel, and this coming deer season I'll have a no-name Damascus-like fixed blade (was a gift that was ordered on Amazon, and surprisingly an excellent knife that is strong and keeps a great edge) in my deer pack.
Sometimes I'll throw a havalon along with replacement blades in my deer pack if I'm going to be a significant distance from my truck. Otherwise, it stays in my truck. I use it for most of my deer butchering and turkey cleaning.
As for collecting, I don't buy many knives these days unless I have a purpose in mind for them. I do have several sentimental knives that belonged to family members that I don't carry...mostly Case.
Thanks for reviving this thread, Greg! (I think it was you that started a similar discussion at some point in the past.)

Case trapper for everyday use and I skin deer with that old buck 110 ???? had it a long time!!
I carry a 3 bladed white case stockman everyday. Bought it myself, no sentimental attachments. But I do feel naked without it. For skinning deer, I have me dandy fixed blade Boker that can hold an awesome edge.
I carry a KaBar Dozier single blade knife daily. Thru losing, replacing and finding them, I have three now. ;D
In my hunting pack, I still carry a KaBar that is a Buck 110 clone that I got in 1974. It's been used on most every deer I've ever killed, even if for just one slice these days. I like a replaceable blade knife for deer these days. But they don't have soul like the traditional knives.
I carry this Puma occasionally. It's an older knife but has a solid blade that does hold edge.....
I carry a pocket knife at all times. But I go through so many between construction work and farming that there is no one certain brand. It's basically just what strikes my fancy when I need a new one because I broke or lost the last one. For hunting it's a gerber gatermate that I bought when I was 14 years old and has gutted more deer than I care to think about! The blade is only half what it once was from all the sharpenings.
I everyday carry a Case peanut two blade with stag horn handles I bought at the factory probably 25 years ago, and a Benchmade mini Nitrous assisted open with a tanto blade. The peanut is for daily chores, and that handle worn about smooth.
Hunting blade is a Case small Finn fixed blade.
My every day pocket knife is a casse XX that I have had for years, but it's about my third one as I usually hone them away to nothing or break/lose them.
My game knives I clean turkeys with is another story. I have two Scagle style lives made by my wife's late uncle and one of my best hunting buddies ever. If any of you are collectors you may have heard of Holbert Knives. He made these especially for me and I cherish them deeply. He made me promise to use them and not just stuff them away as collectables. I honor his wishes and clean my turkeys with them, but they don't get everyday use, no way that's happening. Here they are:
I carry a yellow handle case trapper every day. I keep it sharp and its cleaned many a deer and turkey.

Those are beautiful and thanks for sharing them with all of us... What memories ....
Love knives.. my edc is a Spyderco Para 3, and sometimes a Boker Automatic. If I'm dressed in slacks/dress pants, I carry a small Gerber lockblade, Super light and thin. My wife found an old wooden tool box that I use to hold all of the knives I've collected over the years. Some I bought, and several passed on by my grandfathers and my father. To clean turkeys, I recently purchased a Cold steel Canadian belt knife. Works great.
Always a knife in the pocket when in the woods or fields. Have several different small and med. size knifes I carry. Been carrying one that slides on belt loop lately with my sons name on it . He passed a couple years ago.
Everyday carry is my dad's Buck 303.
Kershaw clip on for hunting.
Every day carry during turkey season is just an Outdoor edge 3.0
I only have a pocketknife if I have my pants on. Shorts or long, I have a knife. I have learned over the years that because of this, I tend to lose knives, so my everyday is just what strikes my fancy - must be cheap, locking blade and small and light. Like 3" blade or less.
For hunting I often carry a Case XX 6111 1/2 Bone Cheetah Swing Guard that I got as a kid. We used to go to gun shows with my dad (he was a dealer) and my brother and I would wheel and deal with knives. We worked our way up over a year or so to swap/sell to get enough to get one of these for each of us. I don't always carry it, but when I do I am careful as I have owned it well over 40 years.
One of the top three year round and the Wyoming type blade during deer season though I did get the gut hook blades for the third knife down but I have not had the chance to try them.

EDC is a Microtec Dirac or Chris Reeve LH small Sebenza.
For turkey or other bird hunting it's a Case Sodbuster Jr or a circa 1975 Buck bird knife.
Big game ? Scott Davidson or Wayne Hendrix drop point style.
Case Medium Congress pocket
Case, Buck, or Queen Steel folder on the hip
Both knives, always
Clean birds with Bird and Trout knives of various custom makers.
For many years i carried an old case XX but had to quit when the airlines no longer allowed you to carry. When I retired and quit flying I started carrying again. EDC is a Benchmade Mini Crooked River and my hunting knife is a Benchmade Griptilian with a sheep foot blade and an orange handle. Both are lock blade folders with pocket clips.
As one who attended dozens of conservation banquets over the decades, I have so many knives I could outfit an army. I have several in my truck, as well as in various places all over the house...and several drawers and shelves piled high with them. I have given away more knives than most folks probably acquire in a lifetime. Most have blades that have never touched anything, much less a game animal.
For years, way back when, my go-to knife was a folding Buck...until my youngest son "confiscated" it. Nowadays, I have a fixed-blade Browning that I carry in my pack, and grab whatever folding knife is handy for the pocket whenever I think I might have a need. I've never been one to carry a knife around on a daily basis, although there have certainly been a few times I wish I did.
Typically carry a Case sodbuster. Some days It's a different one. Growing up, it was just assumed that every guy carried a pocket knife. I also have my wife's grandfather's pocket knife that he carried overseas in WW2. I carry it occasionally. For deer, I carry a knives of Alaska alpha wolf. It's almost perfect for me, and I don't know how many deer I have gutted, skun, and quartered with that knife, but it's a pile.

Can't go wrong with a classic like that.
I carry a utility knife a good bite of the time to save my knives; however, I carried a Camilluis #3 folder that I got from parents when I was 18 and still get it out and look at it approx. 50 years later. I currently carry a Benchmade NorthFork folder when hunting as it has a lot of backbone. I also carry a Gene Ingram straight blade in my gear when hunting and hiking. I like knives and have several other brands but don't carry but a few different knives.
I always carry an outdoor edge with the replaceable blades while hunting, Normal everyday carry is a case yellowhandled trapper that my father in law gave me for a wedding present, and the one I always keep with me while working is an old timer hawkbill
I carry a pocket knife all the time. About the only time I don't is when I'm lounging around in sweatpants. My current EDC is an assisted open Kershaw Leek. Before that was a Gerber Mini Para-frame. My "Sunday-go-to-meeting" knife is one of several that mom gave me when my dad passed away or one that one of my best friends gave for being the best man in his wedding.
I used to use Buck 110 that I bought back in the mid '80's for gutting deer and cleaning turkeys. I retired it a few years and started using an in-expensive Buck fixed blade with a bright orange handle for gutting deer. It's a lot easier to find and I don't feel so bad when I leave it laying in the timber. It's also a lot easier to get the deer "gunk" off of it than the folder.
For cleaning turkeys, Pheasants, small game, etc., it's either an old Rapala fillet knife or a Shrade Old Timer Sharp-finger that one of my best friends gave me for my birthday in the late '70's.
Here are my "Sunday-go-to-meeting" knives. The green knife was given to me from the same friend that gave the Shrade knife. As you can see dad's knives have been used a lot.

This is what I carry. It's the cats meow! Ya'll need one; and I bet truth be told Crow, Tail Feathers and maybe Greg Massey already has one.
I ain't never lost it yet!
The knife I carry depends on the season. During the summer and early fall I'm either carrying a mushroom knife because of the profusion of mushrooms that flush in my area during that time OR a fishing knife. In this case, a spyderco saltwater folder with a hook sharpener.
The mushroom knife is from Italy and has a folding brush. Ive been collecting and eating wild mushrooms for over 35 years.

You have to be a real man to wear a Mickey Mouse watch or carry a pink knife....
You have to be some sort of crazy to carry a pink knife or a really bad man!
You know something serious is about to happen when " Pinky" comes out!

The color pink is pretty on some people if you know what i mean ... LOL....
Zobo - until you posted that picture of the mushroom knife i had never seen one or knew they existed ....
Greg I understand. Some guys just can't pull it off!
I carry a buck folding lock back as my daily knife. On Sunday I carry one of Case or 1930s Remington knives. During hunting season I carry a handmade knife my cousin crafted several decades ago and gave me. It took some getting use to carrying a knife after retirement. During my working years I got out of the habit of carrying one daily after TSA at the airport relieved me of a couple of my favorites.
You guys let me down! I thought you would be all over me for posting my pink knife photo. I was sitting back waiting for all the comments and a good laugh.
Here is what I typically carry.
The top one a Buck 503 I bet is 50 years old.
The middle one is a Bear MGC and is pretty old
The bottom one is a Buck Alpha Hunter. I always have one of those with me hunting.
They don't make the Alpha Hunter anymore ... I have one new in the box with the gut hook ... awesome knife ...

I have spent too much time looking for a knife I laid down in the woods to give you grief about that one.

I have a nice Buck knife I found years ago upland bird hunting, was stuck in a tree, right where someone put it so they wouldn't lose it...

Those are some very cool knives that are built for specific purpose. Like said early, I didn't have a clue anything like that exsisted.

That one second to the bottom looks a lot like the ones I used to cut cabbage back in the 80's. Man I hated that job.
I mostly carry a Case medium stockman.
My grandpa had a saying , " among many sayings " , the kind of " pig sticker " a man Carrie's says a lot about him .
