Have any of you bought a new gun in the last few months and experienced the new forum with the trick questions about aliens etc and if you answer wrong it can stop you from buying the gun of course. Also had my first experience from buying a gun from the Academy Sports and using the electronic computer tablet, that was another experience in itself and before leaving with the gun, you have to wait on a store manager to escort you out the front door of the store, that was pretty neat. Not complaining just sharing ... What have you seen or experienced? I do feel they are trying to make it more and more difficult to buy firearms... IMO .... Be sure and pay attention to the paper forum / questions
I've seen the form but ask the sales person to better explain the form if they want to make any sales as most people are not aware of the changes and / or how to best answer .

Yes, slow careful reading and it is no issue, try to rush and they can get you. Probably that way so people will read it and not just scan through.
Haven't seen the new form but heard it is very concerned with straw purchases. If the store manager is too busy to help shop elsewhere.
New gun days are fun. I think pics are mandatory on here tho. :toothy9:
Bought a new turkey gun online a couple months ago. It had to be sent to a FFL holder. That person oversaw the filling out of the form so no mistakes would be made.
about to get a new gun, what is the trick question?
I bought a new Glock and did the electronic form. The dealer went over the form.
I work in a gun shop, it's not a trick question, but it is asking you a question in regards to information you haven't even read yet. So it is pretty dumb, it trips a lot of folks up, and if you scratch the wrong box it doesn't stop you from buying a gun, you can place a single line through your answer/mistake, mark the correct information/box and then initial the correction.
The way a lot of those things are worded definitely seem as if they're meaning to confuse people, especially with the way they make minor adjustments to them over time. They really sent out and required a whole new set of paperwork for a revision to the gender question, adding a "Non-Binary" box. The old forms weren't good after a certain date, and most shops order them by the thousands, talk about a waste of paper and ink.
I identified as WHAT? I'll need some shells too by the way... :TooFunny:
It's been a couple of years, I need to go buy a new gun just to see this
Agreed here, take your time, read everything and it's no issue. Rush and don't pay attention, it will be a long day......or more......

"Could you even pry a gun from the cold dead fingers of an outrerspace alien"
John Wayne
I think its just another step to burden and slow down the purchase of firearms by us law abiding citizens. I had to use the notepad at academy a while back and the first thing my dad said was "they can forget about ever selling me a gun here I don't do electronics". It was then a light bulb went off in my head and I thought hhmmm? Wonder how many more thousands of customers have this same mindset? Seems to be another form of control. And I wouldn't be surprised if academy ends up going woke like *icks did and goes away from carrying firearms and ammo. From what I've heard and read they no longer keep multiples of any firearm in stock. So you either have to buy the only dinged up one on the rack or they order you one. Think about how many sales alone this has cut down on? Not many will say yeah sure I'll wait two weeks or a month or longer to buy this gun I've been wanting forever.
Must be a different form than the one that's required on the streets of Chicago, San Francisco etc.
