Now that would have been a "fight" to get on video!
I saw that in the paper the other day too! Congrats to the young angler!! :you_rock:
Wow!! Now that's what I call a crappie. It is a Pig-a-Saurus Rex... :you_rock:
Now that's a slab and a half right there. Congrats to the young man.
You have got to love seeing a youngster do that, with his Dad and Uncle present. Moments like that are few and far between. I hope the boy got a picture with them all three together.
Sad thing is, now everyone and their brother will be on that little small lake.
If that young-un lives to be 100, he'll remember that day.
WTG!!!
That's awesome.

Now that's a true slab :icon_thumright:
You can't beat that! Congrats to him.

The biggest crappie I have ever seen in person was 19" long and weighed by the Mo Dept of Conservation at 4lbs 2oz.
i believe, the record here in ms. is 5lbs 2ozs caught by fre bright many years ago.i have caught some slabs but nothing like that.

That's right at 2.5lbs.
Congrats to the boy on a fantastic crappie!!!!!!! That picture of the boy with the crappie isn't a 5 lb. crappie though. Must of not had a good picture of the beast. I've been chasing crappie for 35 years, 20 years hardcore, and my biggest is 3.56 lbs, 18 3/4". I'm jealous to say the least!!!!!!! God bless.

I agree. But I didn't want to rain on the parade. That 4lb 2oz crappie I witnessed yrs ago in the early 90's would make that one look small. It was as wide as a 5 gal bucket and 19" long. A 5lb crappie would have to be right at 20" in length.
what a slab!
