Title: 20 ga 870 Magnum
Post by: rifleman on May 04, 2023, 01:54:39 PM
I've had this 20ga 870 for some time and has been used only a couple times on squirrels.  My question is:  I may try to use it for turkeys next spring.  It shoots 3 and 3.5 shells and has the 25.5" barrel.
I am leaning toward the TSS stuff of which I have no experience but have read good reviews when matched up.  What would be an expected choke, load, and shell to use in it?  Thanks

I'm using  Indian Creek .665 with Apex 3.5 ammo.

You are right runngun.  It's 2 3/4" and 3".  My bad that would be unique.

In my 20 870, I'm using Trulock 570 with 1 5/8 tss ( hand load). You can use Apex or Fox trot if you do not want to load your own.

I have a Remington 870 20 gauge that I am using a Indian Creek 555, Shooting Foxtrot ammo and Burgess Creek 9s through it shoots super tight.  I am only using the Indian Creek choke because it came with the gun. After season I will be moving up to a Sumtoy 562, 565 or 570 because I actually want to open it up.
