Title: Gobblers range
Post by: wchadw on April 27, 2023, 04:38:57 PM
Anyone seen any studies on a dominant gobblers "range"? As far as how far between gobblers with hens? I guess it would really depend on overall population

From a NWTF article it's 370 to 1,360 acres . Kinda have to take that with a grain of salt unless you seen turkeys with tracking collars LOL

I read recently about a study that says 5,000 acres which seems big to me. I do know in western states they sure can hook'em up!!!

The range is dependent on the personality of the gobbler.

I bought a tame turkey to find out. I let him go and he made it a hundred yards. He is no more.
