Title: What's your profession?

Just curious what OG members do for a living.  I'm a machinist myself, actually a precision grinder. I make high speed cutting tools from solid tungsten carbide, for the automotive and aerospace industry. Pretty soon some carbide tipped wood lathe tools as well.  Thanks Roy

I thought about starting this conversation last week. I'm a completion engineer/foreman for a gas/oil company drilling a bunch of gas wells in AR.

I am a procurement forester also known as a "timber buyer" buying standing timber ranging from small to large acreage! I hunt when I want and blessed to have a job I can mix business with fun!

I was a Funeral Director and Embalmer for 12 years, still maintain the licenses. Practicing Attorney for 12 years, still maintain my Florida Bar license. Currently a Chevrolet Dealer for the last 14 years.

Aircraft Planner and Estimator is the title but my Dad says I'm a Glorified Automobile Claims Adjustor but I do it on Military Aircraft.  I have the privilege of working with Marine Corps and Navy Service Members, everyday, inspecting their aircraft and getting them repaired.  I've been Proudly associated with Naval Avaition for 35 years now.

I work for a fuel and lube distributor. Manage one of our docks. Nice to be on the water, but it's not close to anything. 76 miles from my house to work. Fishing is great down here.

I have been a residential construction, regional construction manager/project manager/ superintendent for the last 12 years. That comes to a halt on August 31st unless I find a new job with another company.

May be changing careers...not sure yet.

For my paying job I'm an account specialist.  Been with the same company now for 33 years.   I'm not sure what an account specialist does, but it allows me to turkey hunt a lot on the clock.

My job title is "Archectural Field Inspector"
I do inspections of construction jobs that my bosses designed.
A lot of my work involves commercial roofing.
I make sure the contractors are installing the materials according to plans and specifications.
One of our biggest clients is the local phone company and I make sure that the contractor does not screw up and get water inside the phone company building.
I am a commercial roofer by trade.

Local truck driver. Deliver feed from feed mill to chicken houses. 5PM-5AM. In the daytime I can eather sleep or hunt. Nobody understands why I'm always too tired and sleepy to do anything except when its turkey season. I don't need sleep in April.

Project Engineer for a town in Colorado.  I manage capital projects from design through construction.  I also spent 8 yrs as an Operator and 2 as a civil design engineer in a nuke facility.

My son says he wants to be an engineer like me because I get to "just watch" people work.

Union steelworker in a foundry,,,,more specifically we make hydraulics.My full time job is raising 2 great kids who r 13 and 11,,,perks are I get to take them hunting,fishing and coach them in baseball football and basketball.

Wife and I have owned and operated Southern Window Technology as a glass and glazing contractor for 20 yrs. We specialize in hurricane resistant glass structures,and hurricane  shutter systems, we also sell a structural glass flooring system for dance floors,stairs and walkways. Just started doing nuclear outage valve tech work a few years ago,pays good and only work 6 months a year and it usually ends right about the time turkey season opens.

carman for the railroad, that is someone who inspects railcars, train when they are abut to leave the yard, derailments and repair them when we find something wrong with them. i work second shift so i can turkey hunt every day from march 15 till april 30th.

Retired in 2008. Started out in electrical trade, worked my way through college receiving a degree in forestry. Worked as a forester for several years and went back to the electrical trade retiring with 44 years service in L.U. 576 IBEW.
