HI All-
I'm due for a new pair of hip boots. My last pair were great and lasted many years. They were Cabelas brand and unfortunately, they don't make them anymore. It seems like BassPro discontinued all of the quality gear when they took over and have really gone downhill. Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions for a new pair of hip boots?
Thank You!
Dan's frog legs and never look back!. Briarproof, water proof and the boots will wear out before the chaps will. Back when I coon hunted 7 nights a week I had a pair on lacrosse grange boots and I wore them nightly for 4 or 5 years until the boots gave out on me, got a second pair with muck boots and it was the same thing with them. You don't have to baby them and I guarantee they'll keep you dry no matter what you put them through.

Bekina Steplite X with yoder light weight wader/chap from conkey's is
pretty hard to beat. You can fold the wader down tight around the boot
for general hiking, & easily pull them up or down when needed.
Great for summer through winter & crazy light weight.

If you order from conkey's, they say don't, but add 2 inches to the inseam
& 2 to the thigh measurement. Then you're good to go even with heavier
layers in the winter.
The amish do the installation of the chap & it will withstand years of punishment.
Exactly what wyetterp said!
I have a pair of the Yoder Super Chaps with Tingley boots I bought 4 years ago for getting into deep swamps during bow season. They're light, tough and have held up through briars, and all other imaginable brush better than I could of imagined. I also purchased from Conkeys and they're great to deal with and actually not too far from where I live which I didn't even know until I got them.

Interesting, are Dan's froglegs the same/similar to the old Wick's froglegs? I miss Wick's badly since they closed down.
