Title: 20 gauge hull trimmer
Post by: Rkeifer on April 07, 2023, 03:06:43 PM
I just purchased some TSS to load my own shells. I have a Benelli M2 in 20 gauge and it is my understanding that I will need to trim the hulls a bit in order for the gun to cycle them. Please advise as to what hull trimmer works best.  Also, if there is a diy option, please let me know. Thank you

I measure and mark how much I need to trim, slide a piece of Pex water pipe inside the shell and cut with a razor knife. Pex fits in the 20ga hull perfectly. I lay it on the edge of my work table with the base of the shell off the edge and roll as I cut. Kind of crude, but make a nice cut for roll crimps.. of course you can always buy a shell trimmer, but I'm just a tight wad..

Same thing I used. I don't see anything working better than one of these.
