Title: Dipping a shotgun
Post by: Gman on March 26, 2023, 07:47:27 PM
Hello, new guy here from southwestern PA. I would like to have my Benelli Montefeltro 20 gauge dipped in Mossy Oak Bottomlands Green Leaf. I have never had this done before & was hoping to find out if there is anyone local to me that does this. I would drive to Ohio or WV to have this process done instead of shipping the firearm. Once I find a "dipper", Is there any prep work that I need to do first?

Thanks,
G

Can't speak firsthand, but have heard about this place north of Butler. Would be worth making a phone call.

I realize you don't want to ship..but if you decide to..Liquid concepts is the best. They done my scope that I shipped to them and hands down quality and great customer service. You can call them and they will be happy to give you any info you need.

They have some great YouTube videos on it as well.

I had an 11-87 dipped by a guy near Keyser's Ridge if that is close and he did an excellent job, highly recommend Down Range Weaponry Jeff Yommer

Thank You!  Looking forward to reading & learning more about turkey hunting every day.

I have been huntin' turkeys since 1981. Always used a Rem 870 or 11-87 in 12 bore with lead. I'm now in my 60's & I have to say that the 870 Super Mag in MOBU camo with the laminated thumbhole stock is puttin' a hurtin' on me at the pattern bench & I ONLY shoot 3" mags out of it. I have never shot a 3.5" in my life. Naturally I don't feel it while shootin' at a live bird but I figured why not shoot the 20 gauge Benelli. I have patterned it with 3" Longbeard XR's out of a Trulock tube & I am impressed. The #6's patterned better than the 5's and the recoil is far less than my Super Mag even with 3" shells. Plus the 24" bbl Monte only weighs just under 6 lbs.

Thanks again for the Welcome!

Update us on who does the work, I have a turkey gun in need of a dip sooner or later, greenleaf is at the top of the list!

It looks like you have found someone. I just wanted to mention making sure it was a reputable shop. A buddy of mine had some issues with a pistol after having an individual dip it.
