Title: M2 sling swivel question.
Post by: Snood Life on March 25, 2023, 09:27:15 PM
I was trying to find a solution with the ole google with not luck. Then it hit me, ask the brain trust.

So here is question. I recently purchased a M2. Today was the first day in the woods with it. When walking with it over my shoulder the sling swivel kept rubbing up and down creating a squeaking noise.  The below piece is the one I am taking about.

Any one run into this? Fixes other than duck tap :)
I would typically wd40 something, but I had the gun dipped. So I am unsure what some of my normal solutions would do to the gun finish.

I had that issue with my sbe2, it would click while walking, if I remeber correctly I changed the style of attachment on the sling.  Been a while so I don't have a specific answer for you.

You could put some mole skin like used for archery on the sling attachment but it may not last long?

I hate those things. I now zip tie my sling directly to the barrel

I put a small rubber o-ring on the bar that slides through the sling stud to quieten mine.

Try Vaseline. Worked on my swivels

That is what I used on my M2 and it worked.

I put bow string wax on mine. Usually one application will last a few years.

I did the same on mine. Worked great.

See if the sling swivel can be unscrewed...then put some Teflon or nylon washers on it , there usually in faster drawer section in lowes or home Depot ..

I couldn't stand that small sling stud either, the constant clicking when I walked through the woods drove me insane! I probably went a little overboard but I removed that, drilled out the hole, and machined the inside out to accept this qd mount

The O-ring works great.
