Just curious what everyone's favorite diaphragm is? Been using Woodhaven for a few years, just ordered several from Hooks to try out. Also curious, do y'all buy new every year or have you found a way to store them without ruining them?
Love Pecker Wrecker. Easy to run and sound good.
Recently discovered Kluk and man, are they sweet calls! They make each model in three different stretches so you can dial in to your liking. And customer service that's unbelievable!
I messaged them once on a Sun. They were elk hunting but messaged me right back. Said calls would be in mail as soon as they got home. The day they got home calls were shipped!
Great calls, great company!

Sadler McGraw, ghost cut, batwing and the reverse combo cut. I keep plenty of them in my refrigerator. I also practice year round as well.

I placed an order for a ghost, reverse combo and modified V from him earlier today. Looking forward to trying them
I purchased some revers combos from Sadler McGraw this year. Let me tell you I've tried a bunch of calls over the years . Some custom and very good.
Some customs I didn't like and many production calls from various companies.
Sadler Mcgraw is the best hands down. Only mouth call Ill be running from now on.
Strum, I am glad that you like them. I keep telling folks how good they are. He certainly makes me sound like I know what I am doing!!! LOL

He can find what you want, by changing reeds tension/stretch whatever it takes to get you running there to your satisfaction!!! He's a pretty good fellow too and he loves talking about turkey and turkey calls. I don't think that you can beat his price either. Last order I had cost $9 per call, average Walmart/Bass Pro running $13/$14.
Have a good one and May God bless y'all, Bo

Coves (Pinhoti) Gray Ghost and purple ghost for soft calling
David Halloran NBK for raspy and aggressive calling.

Gooserbat Public land Special and Bacon for me. These two are the only ones I have been able to run with any consistency.
Gooserbat oss and houndstooth ghost cut

Ghost cuts have been my go-to for a couple years now. Sadler McGraw Ghost, Pinhoti Purple ghost and Kluk's Crying Karen in light stretch are what I'm running now.
Woodhaven Red Wasp..if there's any call makers on here who has one that sounds like that one let me know!
Got some from Savduck and Daddy Rat that I like quite a bit.
I picked up a handful of Gooserbats down in Nashville and I am really liking them all OSS and Bacon are standouts. As a whole I love how he cuts them they are very comfortable without trimming.

:agreed:
Good point - Gooserbat is the first mouth call I've used that didn't need to trimmed for a good seal.
Pretty much most of what Gooserbat or Sadler McGraw produce in ghost or split Vs. I do like the Gulvas Master's Choice as well. I've had good luck with Pinhoti's ghost cuts.

X2 on Sadler McGraw, Judge & Jury, reasonably priced, good guy to deal with...
I've used a Woodhaven Toxic Orange and Cane Creek Lost Poult for the most part the last few years.
From the comments on here, I may need to try a Gooserbat and Sadler ghost cut as well. Thanks for the feedback fellows.
I tried some Gooserbat calls in his grab bag a couple years ago. I have been using his stuff ever since. I mainly use V-cuts and combo cut calls. Prior to that, I used MAD poison and shippwrecks. I liked them so much I bought quite a few and kept stored in garage fridge. Not sure you can even get MAD stuff anymore.
This is also my 1st year running Sadlers calls and they are something else. I ordered both ghost cuts and the reverse combo lite. It has already helped out bringing 2 to the gun. He will also bend over backwards to try and help you get the sound that you desire. Not to mention quick shipping.

Cane Creek hands down for me.
Mr Death
Lost Poult
The Edge
Mine was the houndstooth ace along with the KB hen. Both bay wings 3 and 2 Reed. I completed my public land slam with the ace alone this year. I usually buy 5 to 10 of each every year but there were a lot of inconsistency's in the calls this year. Not sure what happened but I'll give Sadler a try this off season before I just buy a press and start making my own.
I stick with Hooks because they fit well for me personally. I like the Heart Throb. If any other makers fit like Hooks I'd be open to try them too.

Hooks make GREAT calls! The EX and EX 2 are some of the best. Hooks calls fit me well because they have small tape so....if you want to try other calls from other makers I would suggest 2 things 1. contact the callmaker and ask if they will make yours with small tape or 2. Take one of your Hooks calls, as a template and with a fine tip sharpie, trace the Hooks over the other makers call and trim the tape with a pair of scissors. Easy Peeze.
Lots of good ones. Cottonmouth are my all around favorites, but the one call I never leave home without is a Primos WP-1.

As a few others have mentioned I also have tried out KLUK custom calls this year. I have a mamba combo in medium stretch that is terrific, and is the first call I've found that I can actually do a realistic purr on.
Hooks ex2
Gooserbat!
Houndstooth gamecalls makes some awesome yelpers! I would suggest trying a few different cuts and find the one you like!
Mountain Hollow Drama Queen and a Denny Gulvas 4 runner. The Gulvas call is great for Jake or old hen yelps.
Check of Jeff's calls at champions choice. He makes a great diaphragm and has a variety of latex choices

Denny Gulvas green or red Master's choice...
His Brown double is about as good as it gets for fall calling....
None of Denny's calls have cuts in them, which makes them run with far less air & very realistic sounds....
