i started to send mine back for the same reason till i tried it with my other eye and realized i had a astigmatism in my dominant eye,Lol.

More than likely the problem with it is you and your eyes... have someone else look at the dot....

I had someone tell me to dim it some.   Now I dont know just going by what was said.

Yes, dimming the setting does help.
